I demand that the Mythbusters test whether it is possible for a bullet to be shot through a car's tailpipe, through the catalytic converter, make its way into the combustion chamber and then cause the car to explode.

That or it's possible Smallville's writers don't know how cars work.

Maybe the bullet had an explosive built into it, just saying

Clark said the bullet was found in the combustion chamber, no way for the bullet to get there though the tailpipe without making some serious hard turns. Hell, it probably wouldn't even make it through the sound dampening and other bullshit that's in the muffler.
