There's a theory that quakes are more common in April and October because of the equinoxes (and the resulting stress on the Earth caused by the sun and moon pulling in opposite directions) but it probably can't be proven statistically.And today's the 105th anniversary of the 1906 quake!

The epicenter was about 3 miles west of where I was in Burlingame.
