Skyline trailer released.

I've seen "Don't Look Up" posters plastered up all over NYC for months but it never said what it was for.

So, they're doing another "War of the Worlds/ID4" type of alien film huh?

Yeah, it doesn't seem like either of those films will need a sequel, this movie just about cover that.

Outside of Comic-Con they had a machine that blew bubbles in the shape of people. The bubble people would float up onto the sky in front of a huge Skyline advertisement. I'm guessing that will be more entertaining than the actual movie.

Just seen the trailer now, and I recognize a few of the names tied to it:-

Brothers Strause (AVP Requiem directors)
Donald Faison (Turk from Scrubs)
David Zayas (Angel from Dexter)
Eric Balfour (Jesse from BTVS, Milo from 24)
Scottie Thompson (Jeanne Benoit from NCIS)

Thousands of people getting sucked up into the ships. I'm sold!

Looks alot better than the other alien invasion movie, Battle: Los Angeles.

All this proves is that one day the people of Los Angeles are gonna be fucked.

Seriously though, I think the "alien invasion" movie needs a new spin.

Well you can really only go 2 ways about it. Aliens coming and attacking right off the bat like this one, WotW, ID4, the forementioned Battle: LA

And then aliens coming peacefully, but have a hidden agenda like on V.

And then I guess the stories where we invade the indigenous species like Avatar.

Maybe one where we try to invade a planet who's inhabitants are on the same level.

I always had this idea of a story where aliens tried to masquerade as humans in order to better understand humanity. Or one alien had to masquerade as a human and had to determine if humanity was up to the test. You could do parables on racism.

Or, I thought it would be really cool to do a movie about the Orson Wells War of the Worlds broadcast. Not an adaptation, but a movie based on what America went through during the time they actually thought the broadcast was real and they were under attack.

There was already a TV movie take on that back in the 70s: The Night That Panicked America

I'll be damned. I gotta remake that then. ;)

Okay, so I guess my ideas aren't that original after all!

Apparently it's getting a lot of buzz. It's got a tremendously small budget and crew, so it ought to be good.

So you'll fit in perfectly in Hollywood as a producer.
