Skins US (MTV) Trailer

So looks like Skins US is going to be a complete knock off of the Channel 4 version, at least for the first episode. I have to say it looks like complete shit.

I think it will be shit. However I think it will be more like Queer As Folk, they will copy each other for a bit and then grow there own way. More so because the USA version will have more episodes with these characters than the great Uk version.

It looks like a pretty much character for character copy of the original UK Skins. Some names are changed a bit and the ethnicity of a couple characters, but really reading up on it the only big change is that MTV pussied out and decided to make Maxxie a lesbian named Tea... Wow having a very attractive girl as an open lesbian? That's so daring MTV...

It also completely changes the whole Chris/Anwar/Maxxie dynamic when you make the character of Maxxie into a lesbian. I think that there's more substance in a character like Anwar being raised by a strict family who's Muslim being friends with an openly gay guy than hanging out with a hot lesbian chick.

Oh and just judging from the trailer I really hate the US version of Cassie.

... :wtf:

That was just shit. Could they not find one kid with the tiniest bit of acting skills?

To be fair, neither can most of the UK people. They look for newbies that no one knows.

However... yeah.... they got rid of the gay kid which wasn't used in the UK version enough to replace it with the everyday looking lesbian.

To be fair, Tony, Sid, Cassie, Anwar, Chris, Effie, Cook, Pandora all have a decent amount of acting skill, whether they all have range I don't know but they play their parts excellently.
