skiffy's atrocities in waiting (ie, their development slate)

this sounds like it's worth giving a chance...

These all sound pretty craptacular but I'll wait to pass judgment until they air. I'm sure you guys will let me know if any of them are worth watching, or if I should run, run, run away! as fast as I can.

I'll give Orion a shot. Maybe Sherwood. The rest looks like poop.
Hey, at least there are a couple of space shows on the roster.

Ball & Chain sounds like it could be a fun movie, but I don't see it as a TV show. Orion has potential.

I don't know. This list has at least peaked a little bit of interest. Normally I see Skiffy's lineup, and I just get bored.

LEGENDARY
A 1/2-hour single-camera series in which Kevin Sorbo plays an exaggerated version of himself... a former syndicated television series star. When a fan approaches Sorbo to enlist his skills in combating the underworld mythological creatures that threaten to destroy Los Angeles, an unlikely partnership is formed. Together, they use their intimate knowledge of the myths of Hercules to defeat a myriad of beasts.
Frak that...just hire Bruce Campbell and do My Name is Bruce: The Series. stat!

Campbell is slated for a prequel series of his character Sam from Burn Notice. Sorry.

Ball and Chain sounds like it would be OK as one episode of some other guy/girl show, like Bones or X-Files. It even worked nicely as a TNG episode. But as a whole show?

The problem is that the emotional conflict goes away after one episode. So they're stuck together and they have superpowers and fight villains and stuff, but at the end of the hour they still hate each other? Nope, not buying it. I dated some real "winners" in my time but if we had superpowers and fought villains I'd bury the hatchet with even the worst of them in about two seconds.

I will try Zeros, but that's probably it.

^ I've been wondering about that as well.

Id really like to see a good drama series about a cyborg/android type character but Me & Lee sounds like it might be played for laughs. Too bad. :(

Not sure, but I think a 1 camera show is filmed like a movie. While a 3 camera show is the style used in sitcoms filmed before a live studio audience.

I miss space opera. That fact alone means that Orion and Sherwood will get more than a fleeting glance. My DVDs are starting to show wear and tear.

BTW, what exactly is a "1 camera" show?

A single camera show is where only one camera is used at a time. Every time you see a different camera angle, it means they reshot the scene from that angle. It provides the most flexibility since each angle can be lit for that angle and you can hide equipment out of that cameras view. However it results in longer filming time and more film to go through while editing.

In a multi-camera production there are multiple cameras used at once to provide all the angles seen. It means you only need to shoot each scene once since you have all the angle needed and you don't need to worry about actors/props moving. But the downside is you have to worry about lighting for each camera at the same time and any mike booms must be out of all camera views. Think of it like filming a live play.

In general movies and higher production value TV shows will use a single camera, while soaps and cheaper comedies use multiple cameras.

Thank you!

I misunderstood and thought maybe they meant some kind of Dog the Bounty Hunter or My Life on the D List type show, where "one camera" follows Kevin Sorbo around or something.

I'll probably give Orion a shot, since it's space sci-fi. In fact, unless it's even more terrible than I can imagine, I'll probably watch it until the end (all eight episodes is my guess) just because the genre is otherwise gone. Ditto with Shewood.

The others look horrific.

Hard to really tell just from capsule descriptions, but only Orion and Sherwood sound at all appealing; and, hopefully, Orion won't really be about criminals, unless it's in a Firefly-like context where the establishment is the enemy. I suppose Zeros has possibilities, but I can't help thinking it will be some adolescent junk like that Reno show on Comedy Central.

The others don't sound promising at all.
