Sisko and FC

I have read in some places that there is a scene filmed with Sisko that was cut from Star Trek; First Contact. Is this true? Plus, during the battle with the Borg ship, and as the Enterprise listens in on the communications, is that Sisko's voice we hear on the com unit or not, for a brief moment???

It may have been scripted, but it was never shot.

Kelsey Grammer's voice, as the captain of the Bozeman, is heard.

I don't know if it was shot or not. But since it's not in the novelization, which would be based on the shooting script, I doubt it.

There was talks of Sisko been in it. Rumour only.
The movie was to be called Star Trek destiny and Sisko and Picard would be fighting the Borg side by side. The Defiant bit was true at least.

If my memory serves (which it doesn't always), I think the scene that was written had something to do with Sisko wishing Worf well with the fight with the Borg.

I wish Sisko was on the Defiant along with Worf, and both of them beamed aboard the Ent E when the Defiant was disabled.

Imagine Jean Luc and Benjamin butting heads over the Borg? That would have been great. Imagine the 'Jean Luc, blow up the damned ship!' scene if Avery Brooks had performed it.

Really? Is that Grammer's voice? I didn't know that.

Hmmm. Sisko serving in Lily's stead would have been interesting. I can imagine Sisko accusing Picard of still being under the influence of the Borg, and Picard telling him to follow his orders because he's the captain of the Enterprise, and Sisko replying, I'm not under your command! -- RR

Or, "Are you trying to get us assimilated, Locutus?!"

Nothing was filmed with Sisko. Whether something was scripted at an intermediary stage (the first draft jumps straight into the battle with Worf at tactical, and no Defiant) or whether it was just something talked about at story meetings, is another matter

Sisko in FIRST CONTACT would've been awesome, but you now Patty "Showboat" Stewart never would've gone for it. And many so-called fans would still be pissing and moaning to this day about "I didn't watch DS9, I don't get it" because they are sooo goddamned unworthy to even call themselves Trekheads, or Treksters or Trekkos or whatever it is.

Okay, guys, please cool it. Let's not start a flame war.
I love DS9 myself, and wish Sisko could've been in there, but I recognize that DS9 wasn't everyone's cup of tea. So let's avoid calling names, okay? Thank you. ^^

I think having O'Brien there would've made a bit of sense. Not only was it odd for Worf to be the only senior staffer on the Defiant, but O'Brien isn't a big enough character that would mess up any dynamic with Picard and any of the other leads. Plus, there's the nostalgia factor and Colm Meany is one of the more experienced movie actors in Trek lore.

And yet, O'Brien's name wasn't mentioned even once during the scripting phase of the movie :(

Also, having Picard and Sisko there would've been some sort of weird, reverse Lethal Weapon in space.

I was joking around. Sometimes I don't make that obvious enough. We are all Trek-auts, here.

The character Lily is such a conceit...she's the Uninformed Audience Member...Picard is speaking to the non-Trekkos (heh) out there. She's not really a love interest, and doesn't advance the plot other than to talk Picard out of staying on the ship to fight a futile battle with the borg, something...say...Guinan could've done. SO WHERE WAS GUINAN?

Really? I didn't know that. I'd thought the producers said there were no audio cameos in the movie.

As for Guinan... What purpose would she have had on the Enterprise-E? The ship was far more of a battleship than the D was, so I don't think having someone tending bar in the Ten Forward-equivilant would have made sense, even if their official assignment is just patroling the Neutral Zone.

Would it be that surprising? I mean, Picard was already known for being a 'soft ass'. He lets his crew get away with murder (Worf) he lets them have sex everywhere (Riker) he even lets himself get captured by the Borg so as to let his knowledge be used to kill several thousand Starfleet men and women...So having Guinan on E tending bar wouldn't be that far out of character now would it...
