"Similitude" : Line-By-Line!

(Log continues) It's become quite evident that Sim's remarkable scholastic progress goes far beyond an aptitude for learning.

We cut to the Mess Hall and an older pre-teen Sim is tackling some project he's working on with a pair of scissors.

Archer and Phlox are over by a window, out of ear-shot of the child.

Phlox: "He's remembering things that happened to Trip when Trip was this age."

Phlox: There are some species that rely solely on genetic sequencing to pass on their cultural memories. Evidently, humans have a similar capacity. This could be an important discovery. He certainly possesses Commander Tucker's curiosity. This mornign he took apart my Medical Scanner.

Phlox: And he's beginning to ask questions. Where did I come from? Where are my mother and father? Why am I here?

Archer: "I gave the order that created him.

I should be the one to explain why."

Exterior shot of the NX-01 saucer as seen from somewhere by the right nacelle. Very little of the hull isn't covered by rocky particles now. Building up like barnacles encrusting the bottom of boat, soon every square will be covered.

Sim is holding Enterprise's resident beagle as he and Archer, enter the Captain's quarters.

Archer: "There's nothing Porthos likes more than dinnertime."

Sim releases the pooch on the ground, and within a second he's already leaped across Archer's bed, coming to rest on his own cushion in the corner.

Archer: "I haven't taught him any.

Mostly what he does is eat... sleep... and not fetch.

(opening a packet of dog food, passing it and a bowl to Sim)

Just fill it up half way."

Sim: Okay. I used to have a dog. His name was Bedford. He was so big. I could ride him like a horse.

Sim sees the Picture of Zephram Cochrane on the shelf

Sim: That's Zephram Cochrane. He invented Warp Drive.

Archer: (showing off more momentos from his shelf)

"That's a picture of him right there...

...and this is me on my first day of flight school."
