ComingSoon:
Just two weeks ago it was announced that screenwriter Roger Avary and producer Samuel Hadida had signed up to return for Silent Hill 2. If the production is going to stick with Avary, however, they may have to wait a while as the Oscar-winning Pulp Fiction writer has just been sentenced to a year in jail for causing a fatal traffic crash in Southern California. He's also received five years of probation.

Shit, Roger, you just can't get a break. After the spat with Tarantino, and a dwindling career, you end up in this situation.

Actually, I'm surprised they're moving ahead with a sequel with or without Avery. Did the first film make that much money?

Yeah, poor him, got drunk, drove, and got his passenger killed... such bad luck, if only that were preventable.

Well, yeah. Just like his spat with Tarantino (Avary could have reconcilled, but his ego wouldn't allow it), and just like his career choices. Guess I could have made my tone clearer, though.

He's also a director (he helmed The Rules of Attraction based on a Bret Ellis novel). Too bad for him. Even worse for the passenger.

I wonder if he woke up from the crash in a deserted town with ash falling from the sky and horrifying monsters lurking in the shadows.

You know, Detroit.
