Shran's ship

Is there any info on the crew complement of Shran's ship? How many people, what size was it? How does it compare to the NX-01?

That article also gives a good size comparison. The length of 360 m used by the VFX team sounds sensible, and gives about as much habitable volume as the NX-01 design.

It is a bit strange, though, that either NX-01 or the Kumari would have a crew as small as eighty people. Using the known packing densities of TOS era, there should be at least 150 people aboard each type, or then lots of empty space for each crew member. We can argue that NX-01 sailed out with a skeleton crew due to the plot of "Broken Bow", and that a small crew was better than a full one for the special long range mission of season 3 for some reason. We can then also extend the latter argument to the Kumari for the duration of the third season. But why would the Andorian ship retain such a small crew for season 4?

Well, they had to carry a lot of supplies. They only travel at warp 5 and it's a long way between shopping malls.

several things about the size.
trip makes a comment about the size of the central computer core in dead stop that it took part of several decks.

and yeah without replicators they had a to carry a lot of stuff with them.
they probably also had several science labs that didnt make it own screen.

And why should every race, in any given time period, always be expected to crew its ships with equal 'density'? Maybe Andorians of ENT's time didn't like to pack too many people into a given space. They were a violent race, they might not have liked being crammed in together.

That I could certainly buy!

In Blu-ray, of course.

With lots and lots of close-up action as a mixed-gender crew is pushed close to the edge and engages in everything from icewrestling to antenna-pulling. Rated PG-52 for violence and quadrisexuality.
