Shows networks wish they didn't cancel

It never aired on CBS, but they actually ordered the Law & Order pilot, then passed on it.

Kind of funny when you consider how they're now the kings of the formula episodic procedural that skews toward an older viewing audience.

Fox actually ordered 13 episodes without a pilot on concept alone prior to CBS, but then changed their minds.

WB admitted to making a mistake in not giving Angel a 6th season if memory serves.

This last decade or so when the TV audience really shifted away from live watching, networks were like we will just cancel low rated shows and replace them to sort everything out. The problem didn't go away though, so I bet there are a few shows they had wished they kept.

Two years on NBC, then another one or two syndicated to independents.
IMDB actually lists 6 seasons! And Danny still hadn't graduated at the end !
Pretty sure it was on at least 2 different local channels in its syndication years.

Due South was great. Have most of them on DVD, but missing a few of the Calllum Keith Rene as Ray episodes.

The original movie had a noticeably different tone than the rest of the series. Speaking of DVD'S, I never understood why the movie was included on the final seasons DVD set instead of the first seasons....

If you're a fan of Gross, try Slings and Arrows - it's fantastic and the first season also started Rachel McAdams.

Does Family Guy count? Fox canceled it but then after it did well on Cartoon Network and DVD brought it back. And here we are 10+ years later.
