I don't really have a collection of things, but I do have a virtual collection of icons. I love incon art and I have a collection of them from around the net. So far, I've collected 6,638 of them!
That's the sort of thing you can easily share too
What are your favourite styles of icon?
I like the standard size 32x32 icons with limited colour palettes.
I also like the icons that are embedded in the Nero burning software. I have installed some of these into my operating system...
I also like monochrome icons, that use a black background and a single colour for the design...
What I don't like the newer styles of icons (vista icons?), that are truecolour and much larger (256x256?), that look like little cartoons.
Also, did you know you can extract icons from programs? Using something like this: http://www.freewarefiles.com/Icon-Explorer_program_19770.html
You can point it at random .exe and .dll files and get hold of any icons they contain.

I like the icons folks make for livejournal. I've watched fashions and styles come and go. Some people are really accomplished icon makers, some not so much. I don't feel comfortable sharing them because they are art make by other people and I wouldn't know who to credit.
I've never used LJ, so I don't know what they are.
A quick google image search for "LJ icons" shows me lots of images that I would call avatars. ie, 100x100-pixel images, some of which are animated gifs.
Is it these that you like?

I love my 1996 Gibson Les Paul Standard Custom Shop, LOVE IT.
and my 1960s Framus Hollywood I had restored then customised.
and this Telecaster that's shaped like a Stratocaster with an Acoustic Profile neck.
My 2000 Samick (Korea) built Epiphone Les Paul that I had repaired and customised.
I just had the Zak Wylde EMG set put into one of my guitars and had a battery box put in too.
I put a Floyd Rose original trem into a guitar and had 2 bridge pickups put in.
I have Di'Marzio, Seymour Duncan and EMG pickups, my favourite of all these are Seymour Duncan. I once had a Rio Grande pickup, was good, great sound, but what it had in sustain, it lacked in depth/grit and teeth.
I have a 1970s Kay I had restored... My guitar guy had to send the pickup off to Bare Knuckle to be rewound/potted and waxed.
I spend most of my time having my guitar refretted so they're all as good as new, and then I go about re-deigning them.
I have a lot of guitars and amps and things, like leads/straps and effects, tuners, slides and picks and stuff... I love my life, love my Framus, my Gibson, my Epiphone, my Telecaster/Stratocaster... Love it.
I even have a microphone stand and this microphone clip I bought for it, right... Now if only I had a microphone.
My microphone stand acts as a coat/hat wrack and/or a televison antenna holder-upper.
All here in my house except for one, which is on loan to a friend.

eta: OK, here's my little corner (in my office) that hubby lets me have for my Trek stuff.
I have a pretty big collection--trading cards, photos from cons, a couple of action figures, the Trek Barbie, the mugs, The Defiant (still in the box) etc. But it's all boxed away. I also have a big collection of autographed photos--mostly of Siddig, but again, hubby made me box it all up. Anyway, here's small section of it; this box was in my closet, and the easiest to get to.

^Thanks! Oh, I have LOTS more. It's all boxed up somewhere. I have a Deep Space 9 yo-yo, a Julian Bashir spoon, a Julian doll (like a Barbie), and countless TV Guides. I was in Sid's fan club for YEARS, so I have TONS of autographed pics, books,bookmarks, you name it.
Basically, it's the remnants of a misspent youth. I have little bits and bobs from various interests all over my office.
^This is the top of one of my bookcases. It has two photos from the above collection (autographed JRD from Sliders and autographed Dirk Benedict), plus my silver man-on-a-swing, some Doctor Who toys, various Trek toys and some little statues (winged cat, baby dragon, little wizard) that people have given me over the years. The tribble is hubby's one contribution to the Trek stuff. He's into Trek, but not like I was (am?). Well, that and he didn't have the disposable income that I did when I was young.

That's pretty cool. I have some DS9 stuff, but nothing like your stuff. I have all the Hallmark ornaments, some of the action figures, a tribble, and a bunch of autographed photos of the actors which I got at the Vegas con a few years ago - but Sid is one of the few who was not present, unfortunately (do have Avery Brooks though, and that is of some importance, I think). In truth, I can't remember all the stuff I have, because like you, most of my stuff is boxed up in the top of a closet. I think the only things I have out are the Hallmark ornament of the station and the tribble.
But like I said, my stuff is nothing like yours. I think the last DS9-related item I purchased was S7 of the show on DVD...on the day it was released. And that was a long time ago....Got the autographed photos after that....but that was just from going to the con. I haven't ebayed DS9 or anything....
I think it's really cool that you have a bunch of Sid stuff from after DS9 too - that is especially cool!
Queen collection. Has grown a bit since I took this photo.
Doesn't include a sizeable number of Queen CDs and memorabilia I own also, including a drummed with Roger Taylor drumstick given to me by him and signed by him. This is just the vinyl part of it.
This is all I collect, although really I have been priced out of the market for Queen stuff these days. I have a shedload of other picture discs and coloured vinyls from other artists too.
This is another collection in this thread that I am impressed with! Very cool! But then, I sort of expected you to have a lot of Queen-related items. Not quite this many though - this is really impressive. I would imagine Queen stuff is getting pretty expensive though - especially anything related to Freddie.
I should lay out all my Pearl Jam stuff and take a photo of it all. But then, that would require 'work'...and I'm extremely disinclined to do any of THAT.
Basically, every CD any Pearl Jam member makes an appearance on since the beginning of time (plus Andy Woods Malfunkshun album - may as well go back to the start), all the DVD releases, 5 or 6 books, 3 tee shirts and a hoodie, some of the official bootlegs on CD (including the 2010 complete set - just ordered), about a million of the bootlegs digitally, and some of the vinyl (some of the singles + all the album vinyl that has been released/re-released since Backspacer). And as you know, an extensive clip library which includes a few complete shows.
)Still, I suppose can't take a photo until the 2010 bootlegs arrive. Plus, I still have not received Eddie's new CD
. I ordered it included with the songbook and it is taking FOREVER. Got the DVD weeks ago...but still no songbook/CD. I mean, I know they said June...but at this point, it's getting a bit silly. I mean, he's already started the tour, 'fer cryin' out loud!

Christine, Ecto 1, KITT, Doc Brown's Delorean, recent model Mustang (new KITT?), Herbie, the Mirth Mobile, the General Lee, and of course the 2009 Enterprise. The only two I don't know are the top left (1960s era Mustang?), and the one under KITT.
It's gone AWOL. It's around in my room somewhere.
The Mustang is just a "stock" Mustang but I guess it works as the 2008 KITT, the 1980s KITT is, indeed, the show's car and even has an electronic LED scanner in it.
The Mirthmobile was a tough find as an 70s AMC Pacer model hasn't been made for decades but managed to find one on eBay and just used generic-looking pine-derby flame stickers for it.
The 2009 Enterprise is just the Blu-Ray disc holder that came with the SE of the movie's release, the DVDs are in a regular case in with the collection and the model just used for display.
The red car is, indeed, a 1964 1/2 Mustang convertible no special car from any show just a Mustang. The other car is a 1966 Volkswagen Karmann-Ghia, again no special TV-show car like the other models just a model of car I happen to like.
I've never actually done that before, setting them up like that... That was hard, but worth it... This is every guitar in the room I'm in. My collection - Minus a 12 String Acoustic, currently on loan.

impressive! I'm afraid I can't compete there with my 10 flutes, recorders and whistles (only 9 in the pic as my favourite one seems to have gone awol)
My favourites in the pic are the traverse flute on the left (it's about 200 years old and you need lungs like an elephant to play it), the modern recorder (4th from the right) and the Corean bamboo flute (2nd from the right) which interestingly has almost the same fingering as the Tin Whistle.
