"Show me Picard's flute!"

Garm Bel Iblis

Commodore
Ok, this is bugging me. Was it destroyed or not? It was mentioned that it was incinerated during the fight with the Hirogen in Destiny and then it's in his ready room during Losing the Peace... what gives?

Actually, it's the other way around - the flute was depicted as having not been in the ready room when it was set alight, as Picard had it in his quarters in Lost Souls (pp. 354-355); but Bill Leisner noted it amongst those possessions that had been destroyed in the fire in Losing... (p.77)

It's been acknowledged as an error, but I don't think it's been stated whether the flute is now down as having survived or not.

See Paths of Disharmony for more on this, coming at ya January, 2011. :)

WAY too long to wait, but worth it I'm sure!
CUT TO:

JANUARY 2011

USS Hartington
sits in his favorite reading chair, the latest Trek book open in his hands. His smile gradually turns to a scowl as his eyes move down the page.

The flute rolled under the couch? That's the explanation I waited a year for? What a fucking gip!!

You cut me deep. I loved Losing the Peace so if you're giving out advice like this I may have to get violent :klingon:

Dayton Ward I beg of you, not under the couch! At least have it in the fish tank for some strange reason!

Very much looking forward to Paths of Disharmony, an Andorian story in Dayton's capable hands should rock hard. Can't get enough of 'em blue people.
