Preach it, Chicken.
Men and women should be equal in all things and there should be no stigma attached to it.
There should be no stigma against women who wish to serve in combat just as there should be no stigma against men who wish to be stay-at-home dads.

^^^ Or any stigma against men who want to be nurses or kindergarten teachers.
Year ago, a woman who lived around the corner from me started a relationship with a man called George. One day I was talking to George on the bus and he told me he was a chef at a restaurant. He said he really enjoyed his work.
A few weeks later I was talking to his girlfriend, Sandra, and she moaned about his job. "Cooking" she said "what sort of job is that for a man." i remarked that most of the top chefs were men. She told me she was embarrassed to tell people what George did for a living.
A few weeks later George was selling insurance.
BTW Sandra had three children by two different men. Both fathers were in prison during the time she was with George and that fact didn't seem to embarrass her.

Absolutely.
My college roommate, who I roomed with for four years, ended up being a nurse even though he has his bachelor's degree in psychology.
And I myself have given serious thought to going back to school to be a kindergarten teacher.
If I had it to do again and couldn't hack med school, I would absolutely be a nurse. I doubt there is a profession in this country with a higher education/pay ratio.
I was in combat when I served in the military and now, many years later I'm a work from home and a stay at home dad. So I got both sides of everything covered.
Nursing also seems to be a good line of work if you don't mind working weird hours. I have a friend that's a nurse and she loves the fact that she can work second and third shifts all the time.
Plus it seems nursing is also always in high demand. So plenty of job opportunities. Sort of like why I went into civil engineering. It's not glorious, and you have to worry about taking care of other people's shit, but it's stable and pays the bills.
I also administer a small nursing scholarship at my old high school. My father requested that money to be spent on his funeral would instead be used for that, so personal feelings aside, I try to honor his request.

My mother would answer "Fine, call me when men can give birth and women get equal pay."
The giving birth is not a good argument; having a child is a choice (or it should be). Equal pay is a valid issue but there's never going to be equal pay unless women are treated as equal citizens.
Males and Females should be treated equally in all areas. So whilst I disagree with the concpet of the draft. It should apply to Men and Women equally.
I may get shouted down for this, but I also don't believe in what is sometimes referred to as positive discrimination. How can you have a positive negative thing?
Women only shortlists for MP's etc...
Sorry I'm only interested in one criteria who is the best person for the job regardless of gender/race etc...
