Should Voyager have been more like Stargate: Universe?

Nope. I like there to be a possibility that I can be mistook for the worst woman in the world.

I wonder why they got rid of those. And I wonder why they don't just let you write whatever you want in the box which seems like it would solve any complaints. Thanks for looking them up.

Well, Jon Stewart spent 10 minutes making fun of facebook because of this.

Which can't have helped.

Jon's real last name is lebowitz.

His birthname might predate the invention of the Green Lantern John Stewart, but not his stage name.

####er should have known better.

I can't find anything about them removing these options but I sure don't see them.

Oh wait, they work if you type them in. But there's no drop down, you have to look the options up elsewhere. Seems to me leaving it an empty box you can write what you like would be better like they do for religion and politics.

You can suggest an additional gender option you'd like to see added and it submits it so I have suggested 'Janeway'.

I like facebook for the drama.

You know who would be scary to have as a mil? Admiral Janeway.

Some people make great crushes, lovers, spouses but they would make terrible parents-in-laws.

Deciding to hate someone who cannot run away?

That sounds awesome.

Which was about the only enjoyable element to Everybody Loves Raymond.

Yup. Awfull.

But I like The Middle, and I loved Till death.

There was a bit/skit on Pete Holmes, where he dressed up as Ray Romano, doing an informercial for Ray Romano Sings your favourite Songs. Two weeks later they redid the Joke: What's better than your favourite TV comedian singing your favourite songs? Duets! Two of your favourite TV Comedians singing your favourite songs! That's right for a limited time at an all low price you cane hear Ray Romano and Ray Romano singing your favourite Songs!

:)

The real Ray Romano saw the bit, laughed and signed up join in on the joke on himself.

:)

His sitcom was atrocious, but that's classy.

I used to wonder how anyone could love that show. It was excruciating how cruel everyone was on it and how witless and infantile the men were. Horrible relationships. Maybe if you never had a relative like the mother you would think it funny, but that kind of textbook nastiness is just not funny. If that mother was related to me I would cut off all contact and never let her near the kids. If I was married to Ray's wife I would eventually decide I would rather be stupid in peace and not live with her cutting disdain. If I was married to Ray I would eventually decide that his sniveling juvenile sneakiness and acting like the whole world was his abusive mommy he had to find a way around was a psychologist's problem and not mine and leave.

I didn't mind the brother at times, the big one. He was the only sympathetic person, though I only watched this show when trapped into watching it with other people so maybe he went downhill.

We need to change this topic before someone kills themself.

So Game of Thrones today, the ugly #### in the background at Castle Black who gets a line now and then... And it suddenly struck me: It's the (grand)dad from Pramface!

Oooooo.. have yet to watch it. Acquiring as I type. Just watched Orphan Black. Orange is getting jealous. Also I keep typing Orphan is the New Black and have to fix it.

Kirk and Picard didn't have to go dark when the same thing happened to them in TOS and TNG.
Anytime they were separated from home it was only for an episode, this was an entire series where--in reality--the chances of getting home in one piece were slim to nil (of course being a TV series it had to end happily). Despite that they just never felt all that in peril, but more just another day another sector of space to explore and fire on hostile alien ships which, aside from some dry ice and flickering consoles, won't leave much of a mark on the pristine ship. Then next week, reset, just another day another sector...

I'm just saying it was nothing new for a Trek plot. It'd been done and been resolved pretty easily before and it would've made no sense for the VOY crew to give into despair because they'd have already known this sort of thing happened before and every time the lost crew made it back okay.

It's just not that interesting a plot, nor is it sustainable for more than 1-2 seasons. After that, it gets stale and you need something else to replace the "Lost Ship" thing entirely.

Do you mean Ben Crompton whose Snow's right hand man?

Yes of course it is a matter of perspective.

Sometimes you are over a certain kind of tv after years of absorbing it and newness is refreshing, I know I've met people who LOVED SG'U's first season because it was such a different style than the 15 seasons of Stargates that had preceded it.

Maybe those people had problems to sleep and Stargate Universe finally solved that problem. ;)

Honestly, I can agree that it's all a matter of perspective. I must also admit that series like NuBSG and Stargate Universe simply weren't the kind of series I like to watch.

Janeway would be a scary Mother In Law. Don't turn out to be a good husband to her daughter? She'll go back in time and prevent you from ever meeting her.
