Should there be any DS9 "callbacks" in the new Picard show?

I think it's not unlikely that we'll see Ambassador Worf and Professor O'Brien as they are both former TNG with at least some level of relationship to Picard (much closer in the former of course), they also have the advantage of being played by actors who are still in the business and AFAIK still relatively pro-Star Trek.

My dream for the new Picard show is that it's some kind of quest format, akin to what Professor Galen was up to in "The Chase." Picard has to embark on a big journey with galactic implications, but he has to keep it under the radar, etc etc.

It occurred to me that sort of structure would provide the perfect justification to revisit the DS9 Promenade -- any galactic quest needs to go through that iconic sci-fi-cantina location. And it would stand on it's own, you don't need to know DS9 the series to understand the location.

So I'm going to go dream that this is going to actually happen. If Disco and Star Trek Beyond can both do so many obscure deep-cut Enterprise tie-in's...

I'm still mad about Ben Sisko going off with the prophets at the end of the series, essentially abandoning his expected child. A huge theme of DS9 was Sisko and Jake's relationship, and seeing a brown man presented as a positive father figure was a big deal back then (still is in many ways). I'd settle for a reference to Admiral Sisko, even an off-screen reference, just so we'd know he came back and presumably took care of his family.

As long as I'm making requests, I want a drummed up excuse to bother Sisko at his home on Bajor, where you can see his family and grand kids enjoying dinner behind him.

I am not sure it would be worth building a "Sisko's home" set just for a brief scene to show that Benjamin is still with his family. Maybe talking with the family in the background on the viewscreen would work. Or Ben and Kassidy could come to Bajor's admission to the Federation ceremony.

Off-screen references could be worked in, but no one should expect to ever see Sisko again, except in a potential reboot situation. Avery Brooks is totally done with acting.

That's a pity, I would have loved for Sisko to appear every now and then as a being with Q-like powers to pester Picard for a bit …. , and have Picard sigh "The more things change, the more they stay the same" :)

Seriously though, I'd sooner expect a Voyager callback, given that that series seems to be a more popular tie-in (see Nemesis and First Contact). Which would be weird in in-universe terms since whereas DS9 determined the fate of the quadrant 20 years ago, in the large scheme of things, Voyager would be nothing more than a ship returning home (even if it brought home a lot of knew knowledge and technology as well).

That is the case with the novels with TNG and DS9 frequently crossing over with each other while Voyager is left.
It also has to do with them being in the Delta Quadrant again. Talk about bad luck.
