Data's cat on the other hand.......
She's so happy and chipper and all sardonic toward shiny happy bestie Picard now that she's had all that time to master Beverly Hills 90210 high school level of social development! She would make a great 24th century game show host! Oh yeah, that's right, this seems to be a first involving a 24th century person who acts like someone 400 years earlier, I already am starting to miss the more formal proto-Vulcan stance VOY kept using as carryover from TNG.
Unless that's the point but it's not a terribly exciting one to explore unless she's to be a regular...
But after a rewatch, it's increasingly easy to see why a number of people are skeptical and there's nothing wrong with that.
Especially if the teaser was thrown together and/or designed to throw out red herrings but we don't know either or other possibility to be the possibility yet.
Disclaimer: My response is based solely on any officially released media, read: only the teaser. What the actual episode shows may add additional context that helps or hurts the case. So far, there's not much to go on and based solely on the teaser, it's hard to believe she would assimilate so perfectly, especially when it's anything but perfect given how 24th century humans were shown to behave time and time again.
You don’t need a whole show for that. Just one episode would cover it.
I say yes. Maybe they could merge her with the Starfleet Academy idea. Chief O'Brien as well. Maybe he is in charge of the Academy and she is more hands on as a teacher. Jason
A Short Trek or two.
I can't see her wanting anything to do with Starfleet Academy (AFASC, those were the people who ordered her thrown out an airlock on Voyager).
IF she survives Picard, maybe one Short Trek
Yes, since she's very easily my favorite character in all of Trek. However I would prefer only a limited series or even a miniseries (like 1-3 extended episodes linked together) with an R rating and lots of ultra-dark, grim subject matter.
Yeah, that'll never happen in the Trek world.
Nah. "Star Trek Seven" would just be too confusing of a title for the general audience. We're still talking about Star Trek Four, after all.
Updated Thoughts: I think if it makes sense to give her a spin-off of her own, then why not? I'll be able to more intelligently say after we've seen her appearances in Picard. Can her situation be taken and turned into its own series? That's what we'll find out.
She doesn't have to be in Starfleet because Star Trek series seem to be branching out into new directions, so they can be about anything now, as long as they take place in the same universe (okay, multiverse, happy now canonistas? )
only if Picardo is there
Paging Quentin Tarantino ...
Give him an episode of Picard (he directed a Halloween episode for C.S.I. ).
Or maybe Lars von Trier...
I am grateful for whatever Jeri Ryan does (it's been too ... freakin' ... LONG).
Even if she doesn't get her own show maybe she could be a regular on Picard in season 2 or even Discovery through time travel. Jason
Please ... enough with the time travel!
