Would Quinto absorb Ellison's writing talent in the process? And more importantly, could he then claim proprietary rights over the characters and concepts used in "The City on the Edge of Forever"?

Yes, Yes, and maybe.

I am not sure what the WGA policy is on plot-lines absorbed through brain-eating. Now I am quite sure the executives wouldn't have a problem with it, since they are all flesh eating zombies, but I doubt they would let the writers' near the banquet of human carnage.

/Mmmmmmm... Brains!

I think the real question here is :

Can Ellison's brainless body be animated a la "Spocks Brain"?

Will they walk him down to the paramount lot to stand in protest with the others...

Most contracts have boilerplate clauses which address plot-lines absorbed through brain-eating. They are fairly standard, but not often used. It will be interesting to see if this stuff starts getting litigated now because of the strike.

^I knew Cogley would be able to fill us in on the legal details.

 And will Gene Coon then be able to sue Ellison...?

The question is, can my brain be engineered to give two shits what Ellison thinks? Not likely.

Okay, guys, this one goes in the same category as poop jokes.

Once again, I get that you are bored and wanting to have some fun and entertain yourselves while waiting for some real news.

But let's try and stay away from the whole 'gross equals funny' mentality.

In most cases, that's not the case for many people over the age of about 15.

Closing for spam.

Thanks.
