Lieutenant Commander
Soon to be announced?
Should Patrick Stewart as Jean Luc Picard make an appearance in Star Trek. Is it possible that he will be in the framing sequences of the movie, playing a somewhat older Admiral Picard
Picard.
Also of interest.....It appears that comedian Kevin James will guest at the ENTERPRISE E. Oh......my

Re: Picard in Trek XI

Best taken with a refinery of Salt. I doubt they'll be any link to Nemesis, either by TNG characters or references.

The last I heard, Patrick Stewart was back home here in England, treading the boards and filling packed theatres... although some of that may be due to David Tennant!

Re: Picard in Trek XI

Itr would be nice to see an older Picard retired to the Picard family vineyards in LaBarre, France.

I think we're probably getting there. The mods' murderous rage seems to be building ;)

Picard in Trek XI?
What for?
Oh boy!
These kind of topics are getting bored. :(

Re: Picard in Trek XI

If ST:IX begins after X then why couldn't Picard make a cameo? (Other than some people just not wanting him too)

His presence would make more sense than a dead Kirk would.

Yeah! And let's throw Wesley Crusher in there, too. I mean, other than some people just not wanting to see him in this movie, what reason is there not to? And what about Morn from DS9? It's possible for him to make an appearance, too. Come to think of it, let's just throw in everybody who could possibly appear at any and all of the given time frames. I mean, why not? They're spending $150 mil on this thing so they ought to be able to afford a cast of thousands! Let's start making a list! If we limit each character's screen time to 3 or 4 seconds, we could squeeze over two thousand cameo appearances into a 2.5 hour movie!

I mean, why not?

mahler5, this thread (and others like it) would look alot more legit if you posted links to the source of your information.

Please provide some background as to the source of your information in this and future threads like it as information does NOT qualify as a rumor if you made it up in your head right before posting the topic.

Thanks.

If you'd been relegated from overseeing adult discussions to operating a day care, you'd want to kill, too.

Re: Picard in Trek XI

Even if mahler5 information is unsubstantiated, he(?) is thinking and got me thinking as well.

I have yet to hear a logical explanation of why ST:XI starts after ST:X then flashes back to pre-TOS. Why even have older Spock in it, why not just start the film in the pre-TOS era? There has gotta be some reason other than just to have Ol' Spock reappear.

Let's consider one logical possibility for an appearance by Picard; they, (Picard/Spock) both share loss of a old friend. Picards loss of Data had to do, though indirectly, with Romulans. We know or can safely assume from leaked details the flashback aspect of the story has to do with with Romulans. The potential for some kind of a connection seems plausible.

Communication between them (probably over sub-space) over their shared loss could somehow serve as a launching point for Spock's flashback.

Since off topic, condescending posting is being allowed on this thread I'll add some of my own; as for this topic being tiresome you should count your blessings, I've seen some Trek forums which are ghost towns of inactivity.

One of this sites strongest attractions for me is the rate at which new ideals flow across it's forums, (if I'm not interested in a topic, I don't enter it or quickly just leave it.) Over time I may come to feel differently but for right now, this is my favorite site.

Perhaps some of you should seek out one of those boring sites, it might give you re-appreciation for the importance of an active forum.

"There has gotta be some reason other than just to have Ol' Spock reappear."

You underestimate the studio head mentality.
