Between Kim, Kes and Seven, I think that Kathy's urge to be a mother is running dry.

Been there, done that.

A stunted, incompetent mummy's boy, a slumber inducing witch who was as mad as a box of piss hats and an autistic sex robot with a penchant for tediousness men

Mummy failed. Mummy should stick to red setters

Just to get this straight.

You know your dad in real life?

Nice bloke.

You want to wedge him into a surprise wedding with Kathryn, probably at gunpoint?

Question...

Are you aiming your shot gun at the bride or the groom?

Sisko is super dad, but I think Scotty would make the most fun father.

It's not alcoholism, it's a way of life.

You can have a kid on the holodeck without going through the whole ordeal... and if the kid turns out bad you can reprogram it!

But every time you do that, there's %12 of you wondering if you're the hologram and the kid is real.

Teacake. No money in the future. :D

I'm having a difficult time with this topic, because I'm kind of blinded by the regret Kate expressed in her TV spot with Bill Shatner about working so much when her son was small.

Janeway would make a fine mother (in the Alpha Quadrant) and so would Picard.

My mother of choice would have been Amsha Bashir. Thanks mom.

Which would be sad if she was working so hard to keep the family afloat.

Kate could have worked less and been well off considering what her job was.

Wait?

How old is her kid?

2 children to a marriage that started in 1982.

Her wiki listings says that she did a couple random episodes a year of nothing much in the 80s, but a crap load of live theatre.

Not Star Trek's fault.

With a good writing cast, there would be no problem with Janeway being a mother.

With the writing cast we got, it would have become the central narrative of her character. So it's a good thing she wasn't one.

There's two ideas we should be playing with.

a. Janeway is already a mother.
a1. Janeway's kids are adults in the AQ.

a2. Janeway's Kids are kids and still in the AQ

a3. Janeway's Kids are kids and in the DQ on Voyager.

a4. Janeway's kids are adults and in the DQ on Voyager.
b. Janeway becomes pregnant on Voyager in the DQ.

b1. Janeway becomes repeatedly pregnant on Voyager in the DQ.

Meh, there's something to be gained from getting impregnated by a LEGEND as opposed to some warp coil scrubber boy.

We cannot allow reality to taint our Trek.

Which series is the asshole, and which series is the junk.

Anatomically the taint is the deserted strip inbetween your junk and your asshole.

TOS is the junk because it is hot.

VOY is the asshole according to all these people who infest internet land who have no sense of camp or joy or colour or play. They just don't like the back door, it's embarrassing and this is science fiction which is serious business.

TNG is a tainted wasteland of boringness. It has none of the hotness and none of the hilarity of its closest neighbours.

Picard would never make a fart joke.
