Should Discovery kill off a character after Season 1?

It wouldn't surprise me if they killed off a character in the first episode, as quite a few shows seem to do it, but I'm not passionately for or against the idea of doing that either.

If they kill off a main character, I would want that character to remain dead for all time.

No magic blood, transporter shenanigans, or resurrection planets.

Or pull a "Lt. Leslie" where a character dies in one episode, only to show up again in later episodes without any explanation as to how this miracle occurred.

They should have Patton Oswald appear as Cyrano Jones and do a running gag of him seeming to die at the end of each episode he's in.

that's actually perfect casting. Oswald as Jones.
