I wasn't there at 10-Forward except for very briefly near the start and I heard nothing of an "incident," but based on location and what was around the venue for 10-Forward, my hunch would be that someone did something to the life-size Stargate replica in the hall outside the ballroom.

And yes, I agree with Terpette that attendance was way down this year. The parking lot is usually packed, some years it even spills over into the the parking lot for the office building next door. This year, not only was there no spillover, but the Hunt Valley Marriott's parking lot wasn't even jammed.

Even some of the events seemed less packed than in years previous. Others may disagree, but I felt that Meet-the-Pros basically petered out around 10:40, while some years you can't even move at Meet-the-Pros.

It did seem a little quiet this year. Hopefully when (if!) the economy picks up, so will attendance. This is the only media con I go to; you get marvelous bang for your buck.

I could be wrong, 'cause I only heard it from someone and didn't see it myself, but it supposedly involved someone drunk who tried to climb the Stargate and they messed it up somehow.

Oh crap, I know cons are a time to kick back and relax with like minded friends, but if you're going to drink to the point of getting drunk, and start destroying one of Earth's only gateways to other worlds... (sigh)

Feel bad for the people who took the time to arrange that display.

[In seriousness it does suck for the people that made it if any major damage was done, but assuming no-one was hurt and nothing was ruined then it's a hell of a story]

Well, the Stargate was gone the next day, so I presume it was somewhat damaged... sadly.
