Avocado is a vegetable, not a color per say, but the meaty part of it is yellow-green which is what chartreuse is.

IIRC, the color has be described as avocado by costume designer Bill Theiss.

Usually people use "avocado" and "olive" as synonyms in color, though avocados come in different sorts of green. We had a couch that was avacado aka olive.

Think of a scale with green at one end and gold (not yellow) at the other. Command uniforms are at some point or other on that scale, sometimes toward the green, sometimes more toward the gold. Sorry, I may have said this before.

Command should be gold. It may be a soft metal, but gold is a metal. Avocados are squishy. Command needs some substance to it.

The cheap Chartreuse is yellow-green, I would say the the 55% one is more green.

But then everyone interprets color differently.
