The "Hollywood machine" gave him a paycheck. He should be grateful.
As it stands, he's just being a pretentious jackass who thinks criticizing The System makes him smarter and a better actor.
Whatever legitimate grievances against Hollywood there may be, an actor who did three Transformers movies airing them just does not seem very authentic.

Of course he did it for a paycheck. We all do things for paychecks that we might not like and are well within our rights to criticize those jobs. The fact that he's right inside the Hollywood machine means he gets to see it up close and personal in a way that we don't. He's likely much more annoyed by it than all of us.

The "Hollywood machine" would not exist if a large proportion of the public did not want to see the movies it produces.
There is a place for the "Hollywood machine," just as there is also a place for pretentious art-house crap and Dogma-95 and all the rest of it. Hollywood would be no more palatable if it was all like Von Trier and his ilk, vs. how it is now.
Side note: I suppose this increases the likelihood that Transformers 4 will be a remake of the 80's film...

Apparently Shia likes the "pretentious art-house crap" more than the Hollywood machine so I'm glad he's going into it. And just because a lot of people watch something doesn't make it good; it often makes it terrible because to appeal to many people you usually have to be pretty broad and unfocused so everyone is pleased.

Insiders tell me that Lebeef is notoriously tough to work with, and is a spoiled brat which probably derives from his time working as a child star. His new attraction to artsy fluff pieces that aren't nearly as good the people that make them think they are isn't really a surprise either.
As for his acting, the proof lies in the tape - he's just awful with very limited range.
A source close to the situation tells me that if he keeps up his bad mouthing of the major studios, even his Jewish heritage won't be able to land him another job in Hollywood. As another insider notes, it's probably time for him to grow up, but there are many people who don't think he will.
