Sheesh! That S5 DVD/BD boxset is pricey!

^ Same here, kinda. My DVD's stay on the shelf while I watch the files on the computer.

Every now & then I put the DVD's in .

Oh, The. Thanks for posting this. I caught the last couple of mins of them on the telly this morning and I was, "what!?!? Missed them!!!" :klingon: Everytime I see her in real life (ie not on Who) Karen Gillan never ceases to amaze me how beautiful she is. And Matt Smith, what a self-effacing, modest man he is. I still don't see The Doctor when I seem him out of the role (like I still do with Tenant) but that will come, I know. He mentioned meeting Adrian Chiles' (the host's daughter's friend). I'd love to see how he is around starstruck children. Bet he's a hoot!

I popped in to Best Buy today and bought the ONLY dvd copy they had in the city. I thought they'd have tons, and in all their locations, but it's very hard to come by, apparently. And the packaging is complete crap. It all but fell apart the second I took the plasticwrap off.

Amazon said mine shipped, but I went with the free 5+ days shipping, so I haven't gotten it yet.

As far as Best Buy, don't know about yours in particular, but I find they don't stock more than a couple sets of DW, even when new. Big blowout blockbusters like STXI they have a thousand copies of, but even when new volumes of the 3 Stooges sets were coming out, BB would only have 2 on the shelf the very day of release.

I was in Future Shop yesterday and they had three copies of the normal DVD and four of the Blu-Ray set. I think I'm going to get this for Christmas.

Has anyone had any problems getting/finding the set in North America? Apparently both retailers and online shops like Amazon haven't had it in stock. I had mine preordered and haven't had a shipping notice yet.

Mine arrived Wednesday from Amazon. I'd pre-ordered it a few weeks ago.

Gotta say I'm very disappointed that deleted scenes weren't included. :(

My local Best Buy seems to be getting out of digital media entirely; both the music department and the DVD department have been gutted, and neither is as large, or as stocked in depth, as they were a year ago. Barnes & Noble now has a larger selection of the audio and video that interest me.

Thought I'd share this though it's only good for Canadians...

I was in Future Shop today. Surprisingly, they had a large selection of both classic and revived DW DVDS. And... S1-4, yes, that's right, S1-4 of the new revived show... $35 each. Wow!

^ That's how much those sets should be in the first place! :D

As for my set of Series 5, I'm still waiting. Amazon's pissing me off by using UPS as their shipping service for my last two orders (instead of Canada Post), so I went with chapters.indigo.ca this time. Alas, its status is still "Awaiting Shipment". Grrr.

My birthday is on Friday. Between a combination of FYE's sale price, my 20% birthday discount, and a $20 gift card I got at my birthday party last week, I should only be out about $35 out of pocket for S5. (Here's hoping that the other FYE's around here have S5. They don't have it at Best Buy and one of the FYEs I went to only had one copy.)

Agreed!

I haven't ordered S5 but I do have some classics on the way. Revenge of the Cybermen and The Aztecs. I had to get something besides Revenge since I needed $25 for the free shipping and Revenge was $24.99. So... The Aztecs was $15. :)
