Shaving Heads

I've been shaving my head for more than a dozen years now; it's so much a part of who I am that I actually can't stand having more than a couple days growth. The key in comfort seemed to be in finding the right razor & after shave.
And sunscreen is just as much a necessity in the summer as hats are in the winter.

I shaved my head a couple of years ago for my Halloween costume (I was goin' as Obadiah "Iron Monger" Stane from Iron Man). It didn't even start to grow back for two weeks. Freaked me out so much, I'll never do it again.

It's like shaving anything...the first few times you do it it's uncomfortable, but for most people they get used to it after a while and it's all fine.

I shave my head. Works out pretty well though I've gotten lazy lately and mostly just buzz it down to nothing.
Yep. There's no percentage in applying a razor to the scalp: the purpose of shaving the head is to reduce work and time spent, not increase it. I've only razored my head once, and two or three days later realized it was a pretty complete waste of time.

^ There is something nice about having a smooth head though if you're going to get rid of the hair anyway.

I used to keep my hair cut pretty close, but I kept being told I looked like a serial killer.

I prefer a shaved head over "balding" any day of the week. A shaved head has been sexy since the 80s when Bruce Willis shaved his head. Yowza!

And truth be told, i have always wanted to try it myself, ever since high school when a friend of mine had his shaved (he had to have it shaved because he was in this tough drug program, but anyway....)....i've never had the courage to do it.

Well after a wash and and a further application of Savlon last night. Today my head feels much better, its smooth, sleek and feels sexy :D

Being bald / balding sucks. Like we don't have enough shit to deal with we have to put up with either looking like a giant dildo or a middle-aged loser.

So I decided to try being completely bald for a while. Today I got my head shaved and then later on I took a Razor to the remaining stubble. Apart from a few shaving cuts and a slight shaving rash it seems alright.

The only thing I've noticed is its quite tender, It feels slightly stingy. I've applied a bit of Savalon to my head (lol) just to clean it out and prevent any infections on the cuts, hopefully i've not opened myself up to some kind of skin condition. I will admit it feels pretty weird and my head is like hotter than normal (since theres no hair to soak up perspiration).

Anyone else shave their head and should I expect any unusual skin developments?

I used to have 3mm head stubble, 'coz I hated having to mess with my hair. Kept the look for about 5 years.

I look better with hair... although I'm badly in need of a haircut right now.

I've been shaving my head for years. I find I look younger with a freshly shaved head than with a weeks growth for some reason.

I don't completely disagree. Maybe for formal occasions?

Run by whom? Manchurians?:wtf:

I have had a bald head but not by my own fault.
I was getting my much like buzz cut, and my dad messed up(he will tell you I moved)
So it couldn't be fixed.
But It was uncomfortable, one becuase it was in winter, one of the coldest in Georgia. And I have a weird bump on my head, looks like a mini stone mountain. I was told to put a band-aid on it, which didn't look natural, I also had to go to school. Kids thought it was weird to have a bump on my head, some even took picture of it. I accidently cut off the top trying to shave it, what a bleeder.

You like the androgynous look, because deep deep deep down, you prefer the bone to the cooch. :p

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw: Dammit. I almost choked on a cracker laughing.

Honoured to nearly be responsible for your demise. :D

I always found bald women kinda sexy, don't know why.

Speaking from experience? :p

Not unless it's dark, painful and deeply repressed.

:( :(

I use the electric clippers and shave it down as far as I can with those. Breaking the razor out seems like too much trouble, plus I have that skin condition where I get itchy if I shave too close (I forget the name).
