Shatner/Tim Allen

I don't know about the rest of you, but I thought this was a great interview. I didn't want to hear about his tv show, or his movies. Shatner and Allen talked about Allen's racing career, his alcoholism and how he dealt with it....really deep stuff...

This show is light on WOW but it is big with insightful stuff and reminds me much of Charlie Rose.

Great job Shatner!!!!

When 2 actors sit down and converse with each other very rarely do they extensively talk about "shop," but engage in small talk just like everyday normal people do.

Sure, they may bring up funny things that happen on sets or their opinions on "so-and-so" in the industry, but very rarely do they sit down and ask each other about the roles they played, how they ended up on that film or TV show, etc.

Which is why I like this..LENO and LETTERMAN always seem to be going for the one liner..or plugging the stars book or music..shatner is just talking to them off the cuff and, for me, it is are more believable and..well..RAW...

Shatner..good job!!!

It kind of reminded me of that video with Shatner and Nimoy chatting called "Mind Meld" or something similar. Very low-key, mostly human-interest (which has the result of humanizing those who many people place high on a pedestal).

I thought the Valerie Bertinelli one was fascinating as well, especially in light of the fact that she shared a lot of info about her marriage to Eddie Van Halen and his demons and such as well. Of course, being a next-door neighbor to Shatner means he probably sees her from time to time...and that's very probably what lead to her guest appearance last month on Boston Legal as well (and Shatner got a few good gropes off her in that episode).

The only review I'd heard panned this thing. I haven't see this yet, but I went to the website and viewed some preview clips. It reminds me of Whoopie Goldberg's old show, a bit of Tom Snyder's, and maybe a little of Dinner for Five. Quiet, personal and somewhat thoughtful. I like that. Maybe the reviewer was a goddamned idiot. I'm gonna check this out.

yes..thats it..Whoppie Goldberg show was alot like this, Tom Snyder too. I know that some think the show is slow and boring...but not me. I sat down and had a bowl of stew as I was watching it, and felt I was in the same room they were in over hearing this great conversation...
