Its not as good as SG-1 nor SG-A though we only have 12 episode to jude it upon and after that Mark I would rank SG-A as the top of all 3 so if SG-1 got stronger after its 1st season then no reason why SG-U can't even.

Saying that am sticking with the idea it will last only 4 years.

I like SGU. It can be a bit dull at times, and the civilians are really dumb, but overall I enjoy it.

But the cool thing about SGU is that it makes fans part of the show.

Let me explain.

Do you distrust Colonel Young?

Do you feel tempted to strand Rush on some planet?

Do you want to strangle Wray?

Do you think the civilians are stupid?

Do you think half the people on board should be shoved out an airlock?

Do you mistrust every last one of them?

They do too! It's like we're crewmembers.

I'm an SGU fan. I always considered the 1st two series kind of a cut rate Trek. Cheap actors, cheap FX... No offense if you liked them, but I just couldn't get into these shows at all. To be fair, I'm basing that on watching maybe 6 or 7 episodes of SG1 and SGA.

But after watching SGU on a whim, I was impressed. They have assembled a really top notch group of actors (for the most part) and have really pushed the FX forward a great deal. I like that there is more focus on the characters and their relationships than techy type stuff. I like that for the most part there isn't a good/evil set of characters, everyone has some good qualities and some bad..just like real people.

I've heard that some people consider the show dull because there haven't been many action sequences. I like that though. I have more reason to care about the characters, so when something dangerous happens I actually give a crap about it.

I also like that in a way, this seems to be a standalone series. I haven't felt lost at all from not knowing much about the previous Stargates. Great place for new fans to jump on.

I watch it here and there but its just not what i like. I want them to explore, to have adventures etc. Not sit around and plot to overthrow people and cry and whine, we arent the right people boo hoo.

Suck it up and enjoy that you are where no one has been before. God i wish they come to a spacebase and get rid of half the cast and met some aliens from Farscape.

Heck fire the writers and get the guys from Farscape.

Will they end up doing stuff like that? I don't know, but it seems like right now their 1st priority should be (and is) survival. Also exploration is rather difficult when you can't steer the ship.

Yeah they can just cry and boohoo and plot against everyone each episode. Thats ratings!

Me i dont care where they get food and water, that is boring drivel. They have this grand story than can tell and pissing it away ala Atlantis did.

I wouldn't mind the theme of survival if the writers were tackling it seriously. But for every water shortage there's a miraculous box of exercise clothes for the entire crew. It ends up being a wash.

I'll be a fan when it's must watch TV for me, I guess. Only one episodes of the first batch that I actually remember the plot of, though.

I kind of think that the show keeps it real, everyone bitching and back biting. IMO there is no clear hero, or villian.
