SG: Universe Story ideas

Samurai8472

Admiral
Admiral
so with Universe official greenlight and the premise revealed, what stories can you envision the writers conjuring up?

I think there will be story in the season finale where the ship takes off before the flagship team gets on essentially stranding them.

A virus infects the crew or ship(cliche but most likely)

The Daedalus or another earth vessel tries to follow the destiny but ends up badly damaged

I expect them to think they've returned to Earth in an episode, but it turns out it's all just an elaborate illusion.

I expect they will make a big deal about exploring the ancient ship, but after the first season the thread is completely forgotten in favor of traveling to different planets of the week.

The flagship team are the only ones left on the ship and they have to survive till the scientist can come up with a solution.

Season finale- the ship crash lands on a planet with the bad guys closing in on them.

Season premiere- the scientist hastily figures out a way to turn on the shields

The flagship team are the only ones left on the ship and they have to survive till the scientist can come up with a solution.

Which will be explained to the other characters (read: the audience) with a simple analogy.

"Like putting too much air in a balloon!"

This is too much fun for its own good.

A washed up star from a previous science fiction franchise turns up as a recurring villain.

Their presence on the ship drains power more rapidly, forcing them to start looking for ZPMs or other power sources.

Ultimately they figure out a way to make regular contact with earth.

They discover other glaxies that the ancients populated with humans, and they are almost all at the early medieval stage!

Some evil race discovers the ship about the same time as the humans and want it for their own purposes. They conveniently have the technology to realistically pursue it, putting the humans at an extreme technological disadvantage.

The destiny gains sentience and some pop culture reference will involve Hal 9000

The destiny is overrun by bad guys and its up to our heroes to take it back!

The team encounters double of themselves

While on a routine mission our flagship team runs into villagers who may not appear to be who they say they are.

The strong silent warrior of the group encounters old friends who have hidden agendas

One castmate will have an episode all to themselves

Two crew members who don't know each other or don't like each other will be trapped in a small space and be forced to bond over the course of an episode.

Someone or something will possess the body of one or more main cast members. While the rest of the cast will try to figure out how to get them back.

The crew spend 7 years on the ship bitching at each other and visiting villages filled with mud covered peasants until they release they're living on a ship designed to build freakin Stargates and can simply ask it to manufacture one to send them home again by passing close enough to a large star to power it long enough to get home.

The episode begins with a death of a beloved crew member(preferably in engineering)

flashback 36 hours. The crew member bonds with his friends even arranging a puddlejumper flight with a girl he's interested in

Accident in the engine room

crew members stay with their dying colleague

dead crew member jettisoned out in space

The ship is a lie and the AI controlling the ship starts getting obsessed with crating a gun that can shoot two sided wormholes.
