I think it's a bit of a cheat having the actors play themselves when they switch. I know it helps the audience keep track but it diminishes how upsetting it likely would be to go to their loved ones in someone else's body.

I, personally, am still rather annoyed at the rather base element of the stones (or, perhaps, the two most basic): legality and acceptance.

In regards to legality, why are these people allowed to visit others, or go out in public? If something happens while they are visiting, and they, say, get in a fight, or accidentally run someone over, then the person who's body they are inhabiting will be held responsible. From a purely legal standpoint, you would think that the SGC would keep a tight rein on them.

Now, on the matter of acceptance, the people who immediately dive into a sexual encounter with someone who is not the one they care about (physically, not emotionally) is a bit unsettling.

Actually he did not create it, he was simply experimenting with it. Naquadria is just an extremely rare naturally occurring isotope of Naquadah. Thanos however managed to make more of it which is a part of the reaction which converted more Naquadah to Naquadria on Kelowna.
Icarus' core was a naturally occurring deposit of Naquadria.
