Did the thread early this time in case I go out later. Also, return of the 10 Chevron poll!

WOW, ACTUALLY using the stones for a positive purpose finally, to help fix the ship, about darned time

That easy, really? After last week? My gods. There better be some fanfuckingtastic explanation for that.

And there wasn't. That felt way to easy.

I figured they would get control of the ship of the aliens would have picked them up...

Being stranded on an abondoned planet with Chole really wouldn't be that bad.... TJ would be even better...

^ Amen to that! TJ has something to her.

I still don't know how I feel about the musical interludes. I actually really liked the song, but it still feels a bit weird for stargate.

Except for the whole magic return, this episode was pretty good. I give it a 7/10.

Good episode. I was kind of hoping to see the ship boarded though. That was my main disappointment.

I'm wondering if Franklin is actually a part of the ship now.

I thought Chloe, Eli and Scott might have been gone for a few eps. Was a little surprised to see them return to quickly, but I'm actually kinda glad they are back.

Cool to see the robot used.

I had no problem with the ship being fixed. I found their explanation for it fine.

Eli didn't seem to enjoy it. I hope Chole and Scott were discrete.

7 chevrons

My only complaint was the easy resolution of the 3 people stranded. Other then that, it was a great dramatic episode with some interesting mysteries. I liked the disabled person story and thought it was written perfectly. I guess the controversy was all for nothing.

That was a better episode than I expected. I'm giving it 9 chevrons. This is a great show.

Now for my points...

- I liked the way they used the stones this week. Seeing Camile having to endure time in a disabled body was both attention grabbing and gut-wrenching.

- The shots of the Destiny outside the galaxy were nice.

- I wasn't expecting the threesome to find their way back so soon. It was too soon in fact. I was hoping they'd milk this storyline a little more. At one point, I even thought they might be imposters. How did they get back anyway? Weren't they out of range?

- How did Lt. James not know she was taken over by one of the aliens? I didn't catch the explanation for that. Someone can't stone-swap and not know it.

- Ascension was mentioned again. I've thought for a while now that that's what Rush is after.

- It would have been a real hoot if Rush had had sex with Little Miss Brilliant (gotta look up her name). He'd actually be sleeping with Camile's body. It would have been an even bigger hoot if Camile swapped back into her own body in mid coitus with Rush. Don't care if it's been done before. :D

- Speaking of ascension, Ben Mulroney said in the post-show commentary that maybe Franklin ascended. Hadn't thought of that. Something told me early on that he was gonna sit in the chair, by the way.

One more question... Is the Destiny speeding up in order to make it to the next galaxy?

They weren't out of range, it's just that stargates don't work outside of normal space (either because they're moving too fast or because they're outside of normal space as well as moving too fast). Eli said they were only there for one night (I think he said or implied that the remote woke him up, so it wasn't even a full night), so the ship didn't have the chance to get too far. Apparently, the range of a Destiny gate is more than a few hours' FTL flight.

She said she was having dreams (or flashbacks, apparently) of being in the dark and feeling herself but not herself. Apparently, they had whatever alien swapped with her in some sort of sensory deprivation room (possibly also drugged. That's how I'd do it) so she just assumed that she was unconscious or had lost her memory from a head bump during the sudden stop. All she'd remember was going about her business, everything going black for an indeterminate period of time, and then "coming to" in another part of the ship. Not a lot of reason to assume it wasn't just a blackout.

Hmmm..Not my idea, but some of the discussion over at the gateworld forums have me wondering if we got the real Eli, Chloe and Scott back or not...

Could be completely wrong of course, but their return was strangely timed, with the aliens showing up soon after.

Perhaps that wasn't due to James being taken over by one of the stones.

Eli did want to go back to the planet without using a Kino first to make sure it was safe....... dun dun duuuunnnn

I think he ass-ended, or ascended, and the next episode deals with that aspect of it. Either that or the Destiny version of ascension is partial like Anubus and the only way for those ancients to exist is IN the ship. We know ascension (without any help from oma) takes extra ordinary brain capacity/activity the freezing gas could help keep the brain cool while it worked to ascend so you wouldn't die in the process.
