Finding a new planet to settle on and searching for resources, sure, I got that. But I don't see how Simeon could reasonably expect to find a way back home without a ship. The gate network wouldn't have been enough to get them there.

As I've already stated, I am aware that was his plan. I am, however, questioning the logic of his plan. Simply returning to those individuals serves no real purpose. They would, after all, still be stranded with no way to return home. It makes far more sense to me to stick with Destiny at this point in the hope that the ship will eventually be in a position where he could escape to return to the LA, rather than to willingly accept exile in a far-off galaxy.

This is the Lucian Alliance we're talking about--allegedly resourceful and cunning thugs. Given the ability to move from planet to planet they could easily build a comfortable foothold in their new galaxy.

That might be tough without slaves to push around, but no doubt they'd give it a shot.

Pretty solid episode. Good to see that SGU is slowly improving.

And once again, Dr. Rush proves that he's more badass than Colonel Young (also see Rush's far more effective "negotiation" style with the Lucian Alliance in the season premiere).

Yeah, but Rush knows that this last secret (the bridge) was the final straw of trust for quite a while. Young, for all of his prior problems, actually seems to be assuming command. 'Bout time on both counts, but good to show the depth of the problems they faced and gives a good baseline for future character growth: Rush finally comes clean and learns to work with others while Young steps up to the plate and unites the disparate groups.

The only problem now is the pesky and mostly unseen civilians. Love how they brought in Brody, Volker, and Park--they'll have to do the same with a few others, becaue just killing them off would undermine Young as a leader. Maybe not feature them as prominently, but at least consistently.

Side note: This can be distinguished from Voyager's SF/Maquis problem, as Destiny wasn't under attack or constant threat of attack the same way, requiring all hands to work together from the start.

Well, they obviously can, since they can stop the ship, and turned it around at the end of the episode. They just didn't know how to yet. I could give my Mom the password to my computer (hi, Mom!) but that doesn't mean she'd be able to set it up as an FTP server so the family could download pictures of the grandkids without someone to tell her how.

Nice to see Rush using his brain with the stampede

It kinda reminded of of the location used in the TOS ep 'Arena'. I half expected a Gorn or a Metron to show up.

Rush should have devised a bottle rocket and teeter totter.

Got around to seeing this. Good episode, though a step down from last week. Simeon was not built up adequately to make him a Big Bad, and the fact that he had information regarding the LA attack on Earth should have been discovered sooner. I hope we get to see Rush agonize when the LA attack Earth after all, and he killed the only person who could've provided intel on it in a fit of vengeance.

Still, this episode was more violent and tense than usual, and it didn't require aliens of the week or anything. The alien wildlife added a nice element without overshadowing everything else that was going on. A lot of people sure got shot, though.

Kinda sucks that we won't be seeing Ginn or Dr. Perry again. I liked them.

I hope that the end result of all this is that these people start trusting each other more. Rush may finally quit keeping all his damn secrets--everybody is onto him and there just won't be any point anymore. I liked Scott quite a bit here.

I think the show is going in a good direction, let's just keep it up!

^ Hes not that big an actor, I have no problem in such a role though it would of been nice to see him in the original season 1 finale though I wonder if Heroes season 4 got in the way.

It's entirely plausible they filmed a lot more material with him and simply left it on the cutting room floor. Editing for TV can be a bitch some times.

Rush freaking killed Simeon with FREAKING DINOSAURS. FREAKING DINOSAURS!

The only way Rush could possibly have topped that one was if he'd said, "Yippee ki-yay, motherfucker," as he'd pulled the trigger on the detonator.

(By the way, I like the notion that the dinos eat rocks, like parrot fish. They were heads down, grazing, but there wasn't any notable vegetation there.)

- Young and Rush working together will take some getting used to.
- Eli, you knew her for all of half of a season and you’re crushed?
- It’s good to see Robert Carlyle allowed to do some acting.
- Rush hasn’t worn his glasses since the premiere and he has them now just when he needs them?
- Why does James never seem to be in command of anything with the rank of Lieutenant?
- Seeing that Scott isn’t 100% loyal to Young was fascinating, especially after the whole scene two episodes ago with the scene with Scott telling Young to man up.
- Robert Knepper is again underused. I know the name power was used to bring in viewers, but at least they could have given him more to do in an episode where he was the centre of attention.
- I applaud the writer’s attempt to make Chloe useful.
- Props to a great score as well, mixing in some of the pop elements before with a great piece as Rush approaches the gate to the end of the episode.

Why does James never seem to be in command of anything with the rank of Lieutenant?

I suppose that's the unfortunate reality of making an officer a recurring character, with one of the regulars a sergeant. Scott also always seems to leave rear-guard duty to James, as he did here with initially giving her the responsibility of holding the 'gate.

Good episode this! I like the way he disabled Simeon with dinosaurs which was unexpected, also loved the way he just then went onto shoot him so coldly which made refreshing change.

I know he used them on the alien ship they found in Justice, because Eli brings them back in Sabotage, but I wouldn't be surprised if he just kept them on hand to use for a few minutes while doing something.

More then that he can't expect a wormhole from Earth to open up and depositing more young women onto Destiny. He is left with the same women he hasn't connected with aboard for the past months.

Enjoyed the heck out of this episode. There are so many things that this episode did right. I can buy the shooting the guards on the run. T-Bag is a cold-blooded killer, and the Marines/military aboard probably expected no trouble. The LA had been on the ship for weeks with no issues. Complacency kills.

I see Eli and Lt. James hooking up.

The ONLY problem I have is how the away team moved out to guard the gate. You don't stand around in the open. You find cover and concealment and cover the gate approaches from a defendable position - which Greer and Scott finally did at the end.

And I CANNOT believe they pulled a Wesley-Fred with Eli-Ginn! Argh!
