A new coalition of human worlds puts the Atlantis team on trial for their alleged crimes against the Pegasus Galaxy.

These people have a very valid point, and this guy here in Atlantis said it perfectly, the Atlantis expedition is acting on behalf of the entire galaxy without consulting anyone, and we aren't even from this galaxy! This has turned from an "expedition" into a dictatorship over this galaxy. One of their biggest mistakes was Michael, what the heck were they thinking, outright stupid.

I can't help but get the feeling that I've seen this episode before. Many times in fact. On a multitude of series. And it's always the same. The so-called "judges" never have a sense of fairness, neutrality and usually have already made up their minds. The whole sci-fi kangaroo court thing is getting old. It's tired and pathetic and they could've done better.

And in a way, it's a cop out. As Brent said, these people do have valid concerns. But the way the show runners present them is to continue to cast the locals as dumb, backwoods hicks who don't know what's good for them. Far be it for them to show people of intelligence and reason and fairness who simply disagree. No. They have to be simple village folk who are in over their heads.

By presenting the locals in this way, they absolve themselves of having to really deal with their bullshit. They don't have to be fair because the locals aren't fair. They've already made up their minds, so all we have to do is escape or kill them.

Pathetic.

Next.

Well, they have 13 minutes to make the episode work...

ETA:
OK, so they didn't do it. I'm ready to decide now: Gate Malfunction. Everybody out!

Besides the Michael clips, I liked that Woolsey did something. I also like the "Federation" exchange ...

It would have been better IMO if those advanced worlds we've been hearing about had gotten together, and done this, people that know everything that has happened cause they've been watching Atlantis in the background, and are able to argue each point very smartly, and not just out of emotion, but out of facts and data, cause then Atlantis would have a lot to account for, and it would be great if they had to make some kind of conession to these advanced worlds, like maybe report to them everytime they step through the gate in the Pegasus galaxy, or report every wraith attack and coordinate with them first etc.... something

Flashback filler. Seen better, seen worse. At least is is a plot point stepping stone, though a mere foot note. Feeling generous, so I gave it average.

Well, I hope something comes of Woolsey's "arrangement" with the judge. Otherwise, this has been total bull:censored:!

It was a total cop out.

Besides, one has to wonder why they even told the truth about the Replicators. They had no evidence for any of their "crimes." The stupid Atlanteans admitted guilt whenn they never actually had to do so. At least they did not volunteer their role in the creation of the hoffan virus nor the recent incident with the exploding Stargates.

The court was just odd if you think about it. They never once talked to Teyla, who's people were captured by the wraith. They did not talk to Ronin either and he too is from the Pegasus galaxy.

If you really think about it, this "coalition" is kind of a hollow entity. Why would ANYONE side with them over Atlantis? Atlantis has ships, advanced weapons, ancient technology, and experts in both Wraith and Ancient tech. What does this Coalition have to offer? Why is anyone listening to the Genii? They are nowhere near as advanced as the Atlanteans. They don't even have ships. The Travellers are more advanced than the Genii and they work with Atlantis.

That's a good word for the coalition, "hollow"

Yep, this episode was a bit of a let down.

They really wouldn't. Proportionally, certainly more wraith have died in the past five years than humans. Additionally, between the civil war, the 304s, and the increasingly-less-cockamamie plan to fix the Wraith, it's likely that 10,000 years of terror will be over sooner rather than later (which would've been my main argument if I were Woolsey). Now, I'm sure the lady with the dead family would've been more than happy to know without the Atlantis team and the galaxy by extension daring greatly and risking much, the people of Pegasus would be guaranteed to live under the terror of the Wraith forever without a chance of freedom, but most of the others would probably jump at a chance to be able to live like people. I mean, come on. This is a place where the Wraith even between cullings are such a scourge that a death from natural causes is occasion for the whole village to throw a party. They barely even have reason to call the more overt conflict of recent years a change from the status quo.

Maybe if they reenacted the flashbacks with marionette puppets.

You know, it's not a good idea to show clips from the when the show was so much better. "Hey, it's Colm Meany!"

Yeah, we are supposed to believe that military man Shepard would not only testify but volunteer information?

How do they escape. RONAN: "I could chew the bars off with my teeth."

Woosley: "No, you see it's required that you all are useless idiots in this episode, so that I may look good."

Woosley's involvement was predictable. "Please state the nature of the legal emergency!" But did we really need non-entity Lorne around?

I kept thinking of pick-ups line to the sexy female judge.

Judge: "My husband and children were killed"

"Oh, so you're single them."

Judge: "You're responsible for the loss of countless human lives."

"How about you and me get together and try to make some more!"

Judge: "I don't need to deliberate. I find you guilty!"

"If wanting to tap that ass is a crime, your honor, then I AM GUILTY."

I thought people liked Stargate clip shows. At least, as far as clip shows go.
Most of their past clip shows have been enjoyable, and not pointless, for the very reasons Brent spelled out. This one doesn't come near the SG1 clip shows like "Politics", "Out of Mind Pt1", "Disclosure", or ATL's own,"Letters from Pegasus".
