That is interesting. At first I thought of The Two Georges, but in this one not only was the war fought and lost, but we are still fighting for independence-- presumably not in an all-out war, if it says the war was lost. Definitely an odd project for ABC.
That's exactly what I was thinking. Weird. That is interesting. At first I thought of The Two Georges, but in this one not only was the war fought and lost, but we are still fighting for independence-- presumably not in an all-out war, if it says the war was lost. Definitely an odd project for ABC.
I wonder what the reaction will be if the ongoing war is basically a terrorist front fighting against the British regime ruling the colonies.

Is it really any more odd than Once Upon A Time or Agents of S.H.E.I.D?That is interesting. Well, it seems so to me. OUAT is derived from Disney versions of fairy-tale characters. SHIELD does strike me as odd, too, but it's derived from a hyper-successful theatrical movie. But an ongoing alternate universe story about losing the Revolutionary War? Definitely an odd choice for a mainstream network.

This is kind of timely with the current US-Russia cooperation in the effort to eliminate Syria’s chemical weapons. NBC has put in development Ghost Projekt, a drama based on the Oni Press graphic novel series written by Joe Harris and illustrated by Steve Rolston. Written by John Glenn and feature writer/director André Øvredal (Troll Hunter), the show centers on an American UN weapons inspector and a Russian FSB agent who are forced to team up to chase a group of thieves before they end up spreading dangerous supernatural material stolen from an old abandoned Soviet weapons lab. Feature writer/director Øvredal will direct the pilot and serve as co-executive producer. Glenn will executive produce with Close On Mondays’ Eric Gitter for Universal TV and Oni Press’ sister company Closed On Mondays, which has a first-look deal at the studio.

Syfy has teamed up with X-Men director Bryan Singer and his Bad Hat Harry Prods. (House) for Creature At Bay, a drama series project, which will be developed as a 90-minute pilot script. It will be written by John Cabrera, co-creator of Warner Bros.’ award winning sci-fi digital series H+, also produced by Bryan Singer. Creature At Bay is set in the wake of the US military taking down a giant, rampant creature — a modern-day “Kaiju” monster – just off the Northern California coast. A middle-management Undersecretary from the California Emergency Management Agency is charged with leading the clean-up efforts as the small town becomes the focus of the entire world.
