So, unless you live in a cinematically-deprived country (such as, oh, say... Canada), this past weekend brought the release of Moonfall, a big, dumb-looking disaster movie in the vein of other big, dumb-looking disaster movies from days gone by. So to commemorate this release, let's turn this thread into a disaster area!
Your entries this week should feature some kind of disaster from SF&F movies, television shows, comics, or video games. It can be a world-ending disaster (such as say, the moon falling into Earth), or a small-scale disaster (like a spaceship hitting a... space iceberg or something) or anywhere in between. If you're worried that maybe the disaster movie you have in mind isn't SF&F... well, if the science behind it is totally unreal, then it must be science fictional, right?
And of course your avatar doesn't have to specifically be from a disaster movie, it can be just any disaster in a non-disaster movie or show, like my first entry below.
Entries should be no bigger than 200 x 200 pixels, and 1 MB. All entries must be SFW. Please identify where your entry is from, and what it is depicting. Each entrant may submit two avatars. The contest will be open for about a week, probably a little over, as I will probably post the poll on a weekend.
In honour of Moonfall, my first entry is:
The breakup of the moon from The Time Machine remake.
And the best part is, if no one enters, then the thread title becomes meta commentary on the contest itself!
