So I was trying to think of a theme for the next contest, and was having trouble coming up with anything. Finally, I thought, "maybe I should just copy the last theme as a joke"... and then I thought, "hey, wait a minute..."
So our theme for this week's contest is Mimicry. Your entry should depict someone or something mimicking someone or something else. It can be through shapeshifting, technological means, telepathy, what have you. People imitating people, machines imitating people, machines imitating other machines; it's all good. It should, however, involve some sort of change in usual appearance... so a robot changing into a car is fine, but an android whose natural appearance resembles a human wouldn't count. (Sorry, Data.)
Usual rules apply: maximum image size of 200 x 200 pixels, and a maximum file size of 1 MB. Contest will be open for entries for approximately one week.
As an example, my entry depicts someone using a changeling net on Babylon 5, a piece of technology that was introduced in the pilot, and then never spoken of again:
