Welcome to the new SF&F Avatar Contest! I decided to stick with an Oscar theme this time out. (Because, let's be honest, it's easier to just follow-up on something that came before, than it is to create something new and original... at least that what Hollywood keeps telling me! ) Last contest we looked at the winners, so this time let's turn our attention to the losers!

Your entry this week can be any SF&F movie that was nominated for at least one Academy Award (Oscar), but did not win any. They must have been completely shut-out. The regular avatar contest rules apply: maximum image size of 200 x 200 pixels, maximum file size of 1 MB, and must be SFW. Each entrant may enter two avatars. Contest will be open for about a week.

I'll give an example with my first entry:

Blade Runner - was nominated in 1983 for two Academy Awards:
- Best Art Direction, Set Decoration
- Best Effects, Visual Effects
But didn't win either.

edit: yeah i got one i initially made for an avatar contest that i was to late for to enter,
it was about "opening scenes" and i manage to squeeze the intro from the movie Contact into 1mb.
And since it also was nominated for Best Sound without a win... i can now finaly enter it =)

The classic fantasy film, "It's a Wonderful Life." It had five nominations (including Best Picture and Best Director) but no wins.

"A Clockwork Orange." It had four nominations, (including Best Picture and Best Director) but no wins.
