Honestly, at least in Roddenberry's day (up to season 5 of STNG), he was really trying to convey we wouldn't be as prudish as America is today. People on here seem to be especially uptight about seeing skin or bodies on TV.

I don't have a problem with skin; it's the context. The Enterprise pilot decon scene had no purpose, was too long and lurid. It could have been sexy without being about as subtle as a blow to the head, but I don't understand why it was even in there. A shower as a decon procedure makes more sense to me. T'Pol in a catsuit is adolescent, but I can accept it in Trek; the decon scene doesn't work for many reasons.

Yeah, I could handle the concept of de-con in Trek; it's a actually a great (and somewhat realistic) concept. It was the execution that sucked. It took you right out of the show.

Yeah, they could've had their skin show if they really wanted to by having a decon shower, and it would've been a lot less jarring and pointless than having them rub vasaline all over each other in their underwear.

An Andromeda Strain style decon would be too time-consuming, but perhaps it could be suggested in some way. Yeah, that wasn't a clean decon scene in the Ent pilot.

Sorry..but watching T'pol in her underwear became one of the only reasons I even watched Enterprise...I would have appreciated more!!!
