Sexploration kirk style

OK-I'm sure no-one else did this, but the first time I read this I read:

"I was talking about my erection"

This thread is really getting to me!

No. My erection talk is strictly limited to this thread.

Where did I say it was your problem? I was talking about my reaction.

Honestly, Dennis. Try to keep up. :p
Keep up? With your problems? I ain't Doctor Phil.

You know, if it wasn't for the fact that you come across as all laid back and awesome, you'd be a real asshole. :p

It is funny that some of you guys really need the graphic sexual stuff (both to watch and to talk about). Personally, the sexiest scene (the one that stayed in my mind at any rate) was an exchange in The Cage (that was too racy for The Menagerie)...
Pike: What...and dress you in the same metal fabric they wear?
Vina: Well, I have to wear something... don't I?
But I'll admit that that type of thing is most likely far to subtle for those who feel an urge to expose themselves (metaphoricly) in a thread like this.

Make those teenager boys pop erections in the movie...
I'm not entirely sure that it is all that healthy for a middle-aged man to have this type of interest in teenage boys. Crushing on Shatner is one thing, but this seems to be going in a pretty bad direction.

Remember, discretion is your friend... and it is never too late to start practicing it either. :techman:

I think of anything new from Trek as though I am a producer..and if you don't think the suits upstairs are not interesting in making sure 'suggested' sex scenes are in PG-13 movies, aimed right at those teenaged boys seeing the movie, then you are naive as you sound...

SEX sales...I will repeat it again..Sex, aimed at Teenaged boys, Sales...that is why all those horror movies from the 80s have a sex scene in them, and its why Megan Fox was raping Mutt Jones at the end of Transformers...

Oh, and have you ever wondered why Kirk was chasing a barely dressed woman most the time in TOS? Because sex is part of human nature; ask your mom and dad.

Geee...are we in the 2000s or the 1920s..grow up people..

Except that you're repeatedly demonstrating that you haven't observed how these things work closely enough to function competently as a producer.

Different kinds of films, different target audiences, different budgets - if you are going to try to make this kind of argument, you do have to pay attention to the specifics. There's some sex and/or romance in most films, but there's deliberately less of those elements in summer blockbusters aimed at young folks than there is in films that target older audiences like, oh, the "Sex And The City" movie that's about to open. It's been pointed out to you several times how far off you are, and you haven't offered any rebuttal worth the mention.

Where's all the heavy-breathing material in "Indiana Jones?" In the entire "Harry Potter" series? The "Star Wars" films? Seems as if those franchises have made a little bit of coin by aiming at young audiences.

Guess Spielberg and Lucas don't have your acumen and intuition for producing successful movies.

Oh, and have you ever wondered why Kirk was chasing a barely dressed woman most the time in TOS?

No, since it isn't so.

Your posts on this subject thus far haven't displayed a grown-up perspective at all.

You can find your stroke material elsewhere. We're getting short skirts. That's basically all we really need.

Wait...we're getting chicks in short skirts, right? None of that TNG dudes in short skirts stuff.

I just wanna be clear on this.

Allow me to demonstrate:

You see? This is an important distinction.

And here's the Orion Slave Girl ("Marta", played by Yvonne Craig) from "Whom Gods Destroy":

Yeah, I'd say that's far nicer color than the puke green Enterprise used. I'm hoping if we get an Orion slave girl in this movie, it will be more along this inspiration. Although, since I am a straight female, my main concern is if I'll get enough minimally clothed good-looking men to ogle, but that's another topic. ;)

I dunno, I can't wrap my head around the idea of trek fans as fashionistas to begin with.

As Bill Murray said in his SNL review of ST:TMP - "I don't know anybody who dresses like that."

There probably will be a sex scene of some kind in the film -- Abrams had lots of them in Alias and Lost, and if he could get away with that on primetime ABC, it'll pass for PG-13. I'm expecting something like what we saw at the start of Iron Man.

Of course, it'll probably be more for characterization and comedy than titillation, but I don't expect him to disappoint in that department, either.

I figure STXI will show young Jim fall in love for the first time and with Carol Marcus but the failure of that relationship makes it all but impossible for him to really commit afterward. Until Edith Keeler, that is and then that goes south and he's all scarred emotionally again.

Wasn't that what they did in Casino Royale? They showed that Bond fell completely for a woman but their relationship failed, which resulted in his penchant for hopping from bed to bed with all those buxxum beauties but never committing. He wore emotional armor so that he never got hurt again. Just like Jim Kirk...
