Today I got to meet her.
When it was time for autographs I said to her, "thank you so much for 7 of 9, my favorite fictional character ever. I very much appreciate everything you gave us with her." And she stopped what was she was doing and reached out and shook my hand and said "you're welcome". This was very cool as she is not one of the guests who are hugging and touching people all the time. I was happy to get to say thank you to her!

I've been to quite a few cons now and I notice that some guests leap onto the stage and go straight into the Trek related anecdotes. And some don't. In Melbourne she immediately opened it up to questions so what got discussed really depended on what questions were asked. She was happy to talk about 7 though, unlike one guest I heard who seemed to think it ridiculous people were asking about his Trek character.
I had a couple questions but other people asked similar so I didn't end up asking anything.
It's true she wasn't at all the entertainer like other guests, but she was lovely in her own way. Just personality I thought. She got quite warmed up talking about 7's character as well as the costumes.

JR is great at cons. I saw her a couple of years ago & she had a great time. She even invited her children onstage.
Kate generally gives a few stories & then goes right into ques. She got burned at quite a few cons while speaking about Am. politics so maybe it's safer to go right to ques.

My experience was pretty much the opposite. When I saw Kate she was having a great time, very expressive and told HUGE stories, waving her arms about.. the crowd was just lapping it up!
