News Seth MacFarlane’s The Orville

Excited that we get another episode tomorrow night.

Is it weird to be more excited about the third episode of The Orville than the first episode of Discovery?

I'm very concerned about the number of people who I've seen who don't realize it's moving to Thursdays, and what that means for the ratings.

Well that's how I'm spending my Friday night.

I agree about Discovery, I'm not excited about that at all (which makes me sad that the new actual Star Trek show doesn't look more appealing to me)

I didn't know it was moving until reading it here. Since I only watch on Hulu I will still see each episode regardless of what day it's on so I'm not overly concerned if it moves.

Hmm...

Anyway, Variety's ratings page reports Fox as having shown "Master Chef" at 9:00 PM last night, which ain't so.

Indeed. Usually I am on top of things, but I missed information about the move. Hopefully, Thursday is where it will stay, as time slot limbo is often where shows go to die.

They must have mentioned it during previews for Episode 3 at the end of Episode 2, no?

Probably should've done so a few times during the broadcast if they didn't.

I watch the show on the Fox website about 5 hours after the episode has aired. I don't recall seeing any indication that it was moving to Thursday. Then again, I could have just missed it.

No, it's not surprising because it's entirely a subjective matter of personal preferences. I'm actually looking forward to both quite a bit. I guess that makes me lucky!

For people using DVRs set to record the series, the move to a different night shouldn't matter. The new episode should magically show up on their playlists on Thursday.

It's weird. I'm excited for new Star Trek, but let down (for the most part) by what I've seen so far.

That's Fox for you - the network that has made unannounced schedule changes, shown episodes out of order, and otherwise done a lot of really dumb things to kill a lot of great shows.
