News Seth MacFarlane’s The Orville

Count me in!
Wow, aside from Braga (didn't even know he had directing experience) and maybe McFarlane himself, that's a good set of directors. Hopefully they'll get LeVar Burton on board in the future.
It'd be cool to see Roxann Dawson get in on the action, too.

If this satisfies the "Let Star Trek be Star Trek" crowd then I'll be happy, as I still hope that Discovery will turn out to be something more than that.

I like the style, but the jokes are pretty weak. Airing on Fox and co-starring Adrianne "Pilot Killer" Palicki? Not good signs that this will last. ;)
Pilot killer? Besides Lost in Space, Wonder Woman and That Agents of Shield spin-off what else has there been?

Looks very heavy on the comedy. Nice production values.

Looks like Rivers found a ship to command after The NX-01 was retired

Or the actual Admiral Halsey. Though I'm willing to bet it's the Macca song.
Ah, well, that (the actual admiral) would make more sense, wouldn't it? :p

It'd be cool to see Roxann Dawson get in on the action, too.
Yes, her, too! She's still quite prolific as a director, most recently directing an episode of The Americans. :D

The Next generation cast as a bunch of misfit firefly type renegades
This must happen.

The jokes were hit and miss, but the blob crewmember, as well as the set design and uniforms sold me on giving this a shot.

IMO, Seth can't act in live action. He is great in voice roles, but not really anything else.

His 3 scene role in Enterprise just took me out of it. Something about his voice and delivery.

Plus I didn't like him in 'A Million Ways to Die in the West'

The trailer looks really bad. Not funny in the slightest.

I'm still curious about it though. I'll definitely give the show a watch.
