News Seth MacFarlane’s The Orville

I like Voyager a lot, but comparing the first episodes of the two shows, Orville definitely comes out on top. Overall I'd say I like them both pretty equally, which is very much.

TV Guide is reporting that episode 13 will not air this season but will air in season 2 instead: http://www.tvguide.com/news/the-orville-season-1-episode-count/
I have heard that there wasn't enough time to complete all the VFX and they decided to complete the finale and leave episode 12 I believe unfinished........for now. Many of the FX shots took longer to render than expected. This is from inside the production team but I cannot swear by it...........I do know they wrap Dec 4 and are still working on the final episode currently so they are working down to the wire just to finish what they can.

I like Voyager, and all other modern Trek. Also Babylon 5 and Firefly. Not to mention Forbidden Planet and This Island Earth. Somehow I manage to like a lot of stuff, including Orville. Variety is good.

Good for you. It's not like Coke vs Pepsi, or Mayo vs Miracle Whip. You don't have to like only one.

Got to rewatch "Krill", "Majority Rule" and "Into the Fold" today. They hold up very well. Very entertaining.

I'll have to rewatch some too, I can see "Majority Rule" holding up very well because, for me, it's really the best episode of the series so far.

Any word on how long after the season finale we'll see the blu-rays?

Is Fox quick about these things?
A DVD set is available for pre-order on Amazon, but with no release date listed.

In all honesty, a DVD/Blu-ray likely won't be released until next August or even September, a few weeks to a month prior to the start of the second season, which seems to be a popular way for network shows to be released on DVD. But then, a more relevant example to this, the 2016-2017 season of Family Guy was only just released on DVD earlier this month.

Doctor Who and Orphan Black are released around a month after the end of a season (or half season). I've never been this impatient about a Fox series, so I had to ask.

On my personal plausibility index, "The Krill" ranks near the bottom.

I enjoyed the hell out of it. :D

Doctor Who and Orphan Black are not US Network shows, so how their seasons are released on DVD isn't really all that relevant to the discussion.

Finally saw last weeks episode, it was very Berman/Braga era. Complete with a shiny reset button!
