I promised quite a while back that I would write a piece on how I made these blueprints. It's taken a long time, but finally "Recreating Studio Sets - The blueprinting process" is now complete and can be downloaded as a PDF

It is currently version 1 - if there's anything anyone would like me to go over in more detail, just ask and I'll update the pdf to cover it.

I've read it now, and it's great. I didn't realize you did as much photo-matching as that. I've tried it with little success.

This one is quite interesting - instead of the usual simple redress with a few cargo containers, they effectively built a smaller shuttlebay inside the standard shuttlebay. It also shows the circular cargo transporter.

It should be noted that it has a notice saying "All panels to be spotted and verified" - there may be some differences between the blueprint and final set

After I finish work on the Voyager corridor, I'm going to go over these cargo images and compare my shuttlebay plans.

Those Cargo Bay ones are especially nice. Since you have the model at hand, it might be cool to see that blueprint recreated with your SketchUp drawings.

It is so odd to have so many scans that aren't at weird angles/low res/blurry/wavy paper/etc.

Most of the prop sites are realizing that you can get more people coming back if the site can archive props, prints..etc for prop makers to make replicas or just reference. Also, web hosting is so cheap, that even with high traffic, large photos will not affect them.

As for collectors like myself, I know a few collectors that stopped posting anything, because people would just take the prints or documents and post them all over the net. I had a site that had prints, but I ended that, people would post them all over the net. It would not be a problem if people just credit the prints. I just post small photos or large sections with watermarks, if someone needs information to help them identify materials or something else. I also post to update other collectors for trades.

I would not depend on Flicker to keep them forever, I tend to download them and archive reference photos. Here is a zip of all the photos in individual folders.

Also anyone interested in archiving Trek photos, I would suggest a catalog or Inventory program.
Home Inventory on the mac is what I use to save photos, it lets you make a dropbox backup.
