Set blueprint exchange

A K-beam structure in Voyager Engine Room?

Now I've seen everything! :-D

equinoxpt2_024.jpg

Best shot that comes to mind, but it was there the entire series. As well as s1 arround the cargo bay / holodeck door cause it was still the tng one.

I love Star Trek! All these years later, there's still new things to learn

The K-beams around the Cargo Bay door were only there for a short time however; I KNOW that they got replaced :techman:

Been working on a little project, still a long way to go

Great idea, I'm planning on doing the same myself for the TMP configuration of Stage 9, but I'm struggling to find a decent blueprint to work from. The best I can come up with seems to be a combination of this one for the general layout: https://www.flickr.com/photos/99878876@N02/14144395532/in/album-72157644182510017

And this one for the set measurements: https://www.flickr.com/photos/99878876@N02/21618151182/in/album-72157644182443257

Unless I'm mistaken, I don't believe the set redress for TNG changed the dimensions a great deal.

Does anyone have a schematic for the NX-01's plotting table? All the plans mention that they're not to scale so I don't even know the width and length of the thing, let alone how high it's supposed to be and how far that bulge comes out...

Thanks for sharing these, they're a significant improvement on what was available before!

And now some Voyager set research (all links lead to flickr)

I've made a list of which episodes each room appears in. A handy way to find references from trekcore screencaps.
Voyager set reference stage 9
Voyager set reference stage 8 and 16
For example, when working on the brig in sketchup, I can refer to 2x16, 3x25, 4x2,7,22 etc.
I hope this also helps any other cg builders

I've also researched the corridor light slots
(Example: screenshot of Alice - source: trekcore)
These slots vary in number along the corridors, so I had to check screencaps for each story to fill in the gaps and map slot locations and number.
Diagram: Voyager corridor light slots - stage 9

Only two small sections don't have their slots numbered - these are indicted by "?". Going through trekcores screencaps, these sections are not shown with sufficient clarity to count the slots. I would be very greatful if anyone can share a photo or screenshot clearly showing the number of slots of these sections

Nice! Holy crap I never realized the number of slots changed with each instance that they were placed on the set, I always thought it was 4.

Do you have a similar map with the corridor section lengths? I thought there was on a long time ago.

Nice!

BTW I was watching TNG "A Matter Of Perspective" The other day when I noticed they had a really good shot of those wall panels they used from s3 on wards whenever they needed to make a quick generic room IE ready room of the USS Pheonix, ST TUC galley, Sutherland bridge. From what I can tell each panel is about the same height as the K-Beams, as in "A Matter of Perspective" The shot where I got the reference image from has the holodeck doors closing and materializing the Panel in it's place. It looks like they also made a narrower version of these panels as well.

After tweaking the image a bit was able to get a pretty close to a 2d representation, one of these days when I have time I might try to make a illustrated blueprint off in illustrator.

These wall panels were originally made for Star Trek V. They were the walls for the brig and I think for the Turboshaft set. I think there must have been a lot of them and they were probably made of vacuformed skins of some kind. After '89 they appeared all over for years on TNG.http://movies.trekcore.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pid=49247&fullsize=1

Nice! it's been a while since I've watched that one. Additionally they even appeared in the bottomless fight shaft in Nemesis.

I really should check this thread more often. Redgeneral, the work on the Voyager sets is outstanding. I see a few people doing stuff like this and I always wonder...well, how accurate is their work, really? But with you, you go the extra mile and really research and check everything. I wanted to let you know that I really appreciate it.

Lt. Washburn - thank you

I promised quite a while back that I would write a piece on how I made these blueprints. It's taken a long time, but finally "Recreating Studio Sets - The blueprinting process" is now complete and can be downloaded as a PDF
http://radishdalek.deviantart.com/art/Recreating-Studio-Sets-in-Sketchup-671775496

It is currently version 1 - if there's anything anyone would like me to go over in more detail, just ask and I'll update the pdf to cover it.

I've found a few blueprints on ebay today...

This one is quite interesting - instead of the usual simple redress with a few cargo containers, they effectively built a smaller shuttlebay inside the standard shuttlebay. It also shows the circular cargo transporter.

It should be noted that it has a notice saying "All panels to be spotted and verified" - there may be some differences between the blueprint and final set

After I finish work on the Voyager corridor, I'm going to go over these cargo images and compare my shuttlebay plans.
