Seriously....what would you do if

this flu ended up being quite serious?

If people had to stay away from public places? Aside from stay home, of course.

If the death toll started rising to 30% and it was 1918's 20 million dead worldwide?

Would it be fewer dead due to improved conditions in many areas, or more dead in overcrowded areas?

Shoot, Obama right now is saying about the possibility of closing schools that are affecte. Is that for reassurance because the media can cause a panic, or that things are worse than we think and this is the first step?

What will have to be happening for you to become "oh shit"-concerned?

For me, it'd have to be a lot more than right now. No special protections are going to healthcare workers here, so I figure it's not bad. And Fresno has direct flights to/from Mexico, where this thing seems to have started.

Obama also said there's there's 57 states.

Calm down, chief. There's seven dead and there all in Mexico. You don't live in a third-world country, relax.

Well, we are all going to die of something, that much is guaranteed, if it is my fate to die by the flu, then I can't stop it.

I didn't mean to imply I was panicked. Shit! I got the California Bar Exam in 3 months, a shitty memory, and high blood pressure. That's on my mind a ton more than this! Right now, this is more like debating "Lost" to me--something to talk about but nothing to freak about.

This was more "what if"-ing, as in "What if it did all go whack? What would you do?"

Speak for yourself, I plan on living forever.

If we have to close schools they have to close. It would only be for a couple of weeks while it runs it's course.

Just make sure that you get medical attention if you feel flu symptoms so it doesn't get overwhelming for your system. Be glad we don't have the socialized medicine system of Mexico or it could be worse. We have a good supply of medicine and competent doctors.

There has already been one confirmed death in this country, and he was a MEXICAN Illegal Alien! Oh! and I'd go full blown ROAD WARRIOR!

1. Dead CHILD in Houston was a Mexican who was visiting.

2. More than 7 dead in Mexico.

3. Take basic precautions until it goes one way or the other.

4. If it gets bad I will be more worried about hubby with his problems and I'd be doing all I oculd to kep him safe and well.

I would use the ensuing panic to finally seize control of this world and rule you all with an iron fist.

Not worried. I think we have more to worry about with the uninformed panic than we do of the actual disease. Next question?

Well, Obama was closer than you are. There were over 100 dead in Mexico yesterday. The toll is now up to 160 dead and almost 2500 sick in Mexico alone, 1,300 of those are hospitalized.

Wrong, genius. :techman:

Only 7 swine flu deaths, not 152, says WHO

Feel free to never question me on my stats again. :techman:

2. More than 7 dead in Mexico.

See above.

As already said, only seven deaths so far, all in a third world country, so I'm not yet worried.

If it did turns serious we'll corss that bridge when we come to that. It's not like I'm hugely social anyways.
