Tharp, I'm going to say this as plainly and as succinctly as I can and I hope you will take that in to consideration and not rely on our previous, pseudo-hostilities and bickering to inform the motivation of this reply. I assure you those interactions have nothing to do with what I'm about to say.
It's one thing to be cute. It's another to be funny. It's yet another to attempt to be either and fail, or miss the mark. Granted you've taken quite a lot of flack around here because the vast majority of the membership here seemingly just don't "get" your sense of humor. Admittedly, I tend to be one of those persons.
However, to point out and try to discredit --even through humor-- the suffering (or potential suffering) of someone, especially if it's something wholly out of their control like a brain tumor, or say diabetes or ADD-- is just completely a low-class, douche move, in my opinion.
I question whether this has to do more with the person who started the thread than anything else, and when I do, I have to ask myself if you would have attempted to make the same kind of "joke" here if that thread in question had been started by someone you like, perhaps one of the ladies here on the BBS.
In conclusion, I'd just like to suggest that you consider the feelings of the other posters you are teasing, especially when it comes to things like Treker's brain tumor. God forbid it turn out to be malignant; you'll look like even more of an asshole for this.
Just my two cents.
