I hit the "print screen" button on my keyboard. Then I open up Paint and paste the screenshot. Then I crop it to remove any extra stuff.

In short, Command-Control-Shift-4. You'll have an area you can position and resize as needed. Cropped and easy to use. All you need to do then is upload it to your favourite picture host
