Sequence of events... Help me out here!

Ok. So Lore contacted the Crystalline Entity before he was dismantled... Yet the Entity came after Data was fully constructed. So... I've got a few options.

A. Data was constructed, Lore made contact, got dismantled, Entity attacked, Soongs fled, Data was left behind.

B. Lore made contact, got dismantled, Data was constructed, Entity attacked, Soongs fled, Data was left behind.

C. Lore made contact, Data was constructed, Lore was dismantled when the Entity came to attack, Soongs fled, Data was left behind, Entity attacked.

There are other options I guess but I don't want to type them out. You get what I mean. Someone help clarify this because I'm gonna write a fanfic about Data's creation, abandonment, and later discovery by the Tripoli. I basically really need to know if Lore was around for that, and if so, when was he dismantled?

EDIT: Another option I've come up with. Lore's created, is emotionally unstable, plans go into effect for creating Data, Lore gets jealous, contacts entity, gets dismantled, Data's finished, Entity comes, Soongs leave Data behind.

I wrote just such a fanfic way back when the show was still running. I incorporated the "Data was created by aliens" theme of the David Gerrold "Encounter at Farpoint" novelization with the "created by Dr Soong" scenario of "Datalore".

My take was that Soong always had a new model on the boil. He already had a new android ready to go when the colonists took exception to Lore's behaviour and demanded he be disassembled. As the Crystal Entity approached, Soong put the recorded logs of the colonists into Data's memory banks to preserve them, because the Entity destroys all organic life. They must have known what the Entity looked like, because there are children's drawings of it on the walls of the lab. Data was left out in the open and deactivated so the Entity would ignore him.

The episode "Inheritance", aired after my fanfic was written, mentioned three prototypes before Lore. "Nemesis" then tells us there was at least one more (B-4) that Juliana never met. I'd also recommend you read the novel "Immortal Coil" by Jeffrey Lang, which tells the fates of the android Juliana, and the three prototypes.

As I only follow the canon stuff, I always figured the course of events to be like this

Soong built 3 primitive androids with limited positronic function. One of these three androids, in all certainty, was B4, who would later be upgraded, after interfacing with Data.

Then Soong built Lore. During the time period that Lore began to frighten the colonists, Soong built Data, & progressed him through his "Childhood" learning stages, as described by the Julianna android. It's fairly plausible that though Lore played ignorant, he was completely aware of the existence of Data, prior to their first meeting aboard the Enterprise

Upon finding out that the colonists had petitioned for his deactivation, an angered Lore contacted the Crystalline Entity & lured it to Omicron Theta. Before its arrival, Soong likely found out about what Lore had done, & programmed Data with the logs & remembrances of the colonists, to preserve their memory

Having little time for escape, Soong deactivated & disassembled Lore, & made his escape with Julianna, leaving Data where he'd be found, & storing Lore where he'd hoped he wouldn't be

Shortly after relocating to Terlina III with Julianna, she fell comatose, & Soong constructed an android vessel to transfer her memories, & character traits to, a feat only ever achieved again by Ira Graves. Soong spends the remainder of his days perfecting an emotion chip for Data

For the record, I HAVE read Immortal Coil (which was pretty much amazing), but if I remember correctly it doesn't say much on the sequence of events. I'm not concerned with the prototype androids, mostly just Data (and Lore if he was around during Data's creation).

I think it might be safe to assume Lore was dismantled before Data was created, since Data has no memory whatsoever of Lore before he found him on Omicron Theta. I know Data's memory was wiped before he was abandoned, but he DID say during Datalore that he had vague memories of some of his functions being tested in that lab, so not everything was lost.
