Throughout the multiverse, there are as many similarities as there are differences. There is, however, at least one constant: a legend, found on every world, known amongst every culture, passed down through the ages by wise ones to eager youth. This is the legend of the time when the sky touched the ground, and for one glorious moment, heaven and earth were joined. The legend speaks also of the place where this happened, a place that many have quested for but few have seen, a place of power and great significance.
The telling of the legend varies from world to world, culture to culture, and though the languages differ wildly, in each telling of the legend, the place has the same name.
Stars' Fall.
The challenge this month is to describe that event, the time when the stars fell to earth. It could be a first contact, or a spatial or temporal anomaly; however you choose to tell of it, the event had a far-reaching impact on the world, and it's up to you to describe the event and its impact, and/or as well as the place where it happened.
So, the Rules:

So, the Rules:
- Word count- 5000 to 8000 words, a little under or a little over is OK.
- Any Trek era, canon or your own 'verse.
- No crossovers please, let's keep this straight-up Trek.
- Somewhere in the story you must at least mention a place called "Stars' Fall", and if you choose not to feature the place in your story, at least tell us how the legends describe it. (EDIT- in response to a question, the place does not have to be literally named Stars' Fall; "Stars' Fall" can be the colloquial name, or the name given in legend, if the true name of the place is unknown)
- Deadline for entries is midnight (US Eastern standard time) September 28th, with judging to take place from Sept. 29th to October 1st.
