I suppose the easiest way to do this is less rules...so henceforth, the September challenge is any alternate universe... But still a story taken from somewhere else in the Trek universe converted to the perspective of that universe. Want classic Mirror, go for it. Want something else, go for it.

So it is written, so shall it be done.

I think I'll leave Solly out of this one. At least until my stomach settles.

Not that I'm complaining, I'm happy with how it turned out, plus I get to showboat a little more (always good)...

i just wanna say something else here:

i don't think it's fair that Woah Nellie is entering a previously posted story.

as i recall, when the challenge was started (back in November '05), the stories were supposed to be original and written for the contest. cuz, if she can do that, then what's to stop me posting my PL story 'The Road Not Chosen' which is a re-write of VGR 'Caretaker' in an AU?

it's not a Mirror Universe, it's an Alternate Universe and mirrors Caretaker. I basically retold the episode from the POV of Scott Freeman who took the job of Ops officer on VGR, instead of refusing it and some other luckless sap getting the job.

I had no intention of "Captain's Desire" being an entry this month. If you read the post you will see the word not is even bolded.

As I stated I was just amazed and delighted to see that almost exactly one year after hitting upon the idea of writing a mirror version of an episode as my submission for the August/September 06 monthly challenge of "Alternate Universes" that exact idea of writing a "mirror version of an episode" was issued as the monthly challenge. Of course, I've been posting Mirror Picard stories to alt.startrek.creative since "Nocturnal Transmissions" way back in September of 1998.
